Welcome to the 12th U.S. Open One Pocket ChampionshipWe look forward to seeing you at the (2011) 12th U.S. Open One Pocket Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) May 12-15, 2011. This is the first year the tournament is being held at the Riviera Hotel & Casino. It will take place the four days preceeding the U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship (May 16-21) and alongside the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships and look forward to again an outstanding event.

Below are details about the U.S. Open One Pocket Championship and information that will help you prepare for your trip.

TO ENTER:

All players must submit a complete and signed entry form. To obtain an entry form contact Holly Ryan at [email protected] or call the CueSports International (CSI) office at (702) 719-7665. The CSI office hours of operation is: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm U.S. Pacific Time.

The U.S. Open One Pocket Championship has a maximum 64 player field. No one will be considered entered into the event until the entry form and the entry fee ($340) have been recieved at the CSI office. Your entry form may be mailed or faxed, per the instructions on the form.

EVENT DETAILS:

I. Dates: May 12-15, 2011

II. Mandatory Player’s Meeting: 8 pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2011. At the end of the meeting a Q & A will be held. Only CSI staff, registered players, interpreters, and CSI guests are allowed in the meeting. Courtesy to all speakers and attendees is expected.

III. Venue: The Pro Arena in the Royale Pavilion Ballroom of the Riviera Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, NV

IV. Tournament Format: One Pocket, double elimination, alternate break and race to 4 on the winner side and race to 3 on the one loss side. The finals will be a single race to 5.

V. Equipment: Diamond 9’ Tables with pro cut pockets, Simonis 860 Tournament Blue Cloth, Super Aramith Pro Balls, Aramith Pro Cup Measle Ball.

VI. Rules: BCAPL Rules on One Pocket (CLICK TO VIEW RULES)

VII. Match Length and Rack Set-Up: A. Lag for the first break in each match B. The balls are racked in a triangle with the apex ball on the foot spot. All other balls placed randomly C. Opponent rack’s with the person breaking having the right to inspect. D. The length scheduled for each match round is three (3) hours.

VIII. Slow Play Monitoring and Penalties: In order to complete the event in the allotted time players must finish their One Pocket matches within the three (3) hour time requirement.

All players are expected to keep pace. Tournament officials will monitor the score and elapsed time of every match. A warning will be given to the player(s) by a referee to speed up play in the match. It is at the discre-tion of the tournament director that either one or both of the players in the match may be warned. If it is determined the pace of the game has not adequately increased after the warning, either one or both of the players may be put on a 45 second shot clock.

IX. Dress Code Approved Clothing (both men and women): • Dresspantsorcasualslacks.• Poloorbuttondownstyleshirtwithsleevesandfoldovercollar–buttondownshirtsmaybeworn unbuttoned and without a tie if they are worn with a neat and tasteful undergarment. Button down shirts worn without an undergarment may only be unbuttoned one button below the neck button. Shirts should not be excessively loose or revealing. • Formalwearshirtifwornwithproperpantsandacommonlyacceptedtie• Formalwearshirtthatdoesnotcommonlyacceptatie(suchasabandedorMandarincollar)• Allfootwearmusthaveaclosedtoeandbenormalinitsstyleandwear.Shoeswithlacesmusthave the laces properly tied. Dark color tennis or walking shoes are acceptable.

Prohibited Clothing: • Athleticwearofanykind,includingbutnotlimitedto:sweats,swimwear,joggingsuits,uniformsor jerseys,anykindofpantswithcontrastingstripesnotassociatedwithformalwear.• Shortsofanykind,regardlessofapparentlength.Pantsmustbenormalinrespecttotheappropriate rise in relation to the length of garment and may not be excessively baggy or loose fitting. • Formalshirts,suchaswingtiporlaydowncollaredtuxedoshirts,whicharewornwithoutacom monly accepted matching tie and pants. • Overallsorcoveralls• Jeans• Hats• Commonlywornouterwearwhileonthetournamentfloor.

X. Sponsor Logos and Patches: Players will be entitled to wear logos on his or her playing apparel (“player’s Logos) at the event. Each logo must not exceed 3” x 2” (75 ml x 50 ml) or 6 square inches. The player shall submit to CueSports International (CSI) before his first match examples of all player or player sponsor logos for approval. CSI will have authority to disallow any player or player sponsor logos should they not complywiththepolicyorconflictswithanysponsororbroadcasteroftheevent.Furthermore,CSIreservesthe right to require the player to display a logo on the player’s apparel for the use by an event sponsor. This logo will be provided to the player at CSI’s cost at the player’s meeting May 16th.

XI. Electronic Devices, Headphones and Earplugs: IPods, MP3 Players, or any and all manner of hand-held electronic devices used to play music or video are not allowed during tournament play or practice. Headphones and earplugs of any kind are also prohibited. Cell phones must be turned off when on the tour-namentfloororroomduringamatch.Cellphonesmustbesetonvibrateorturnedoffwhileinthetourna-ment room for any other purpose such as when a spectator of other matches or while at the practice table.

XII. Interviews and the Media: When talking to the Press or Media, players should always refer to the event as the U.S. Open One Pocket Championship. Players will make themselves available to attend press conferences and interviews as requested by CSI.

XIII. Profile Forms: Players are required to complete the attached profile form. Either fax to the CSI office or hand in to the tournament director at the beginning of the player’s meeting May 11th.

XIV. Player Guests: Players will be allowed one guest pass for the duration of the event (May 12-15) for a discounted rate. Your guest may purchase an All Session General Admission pass for $25 or an All Session VIP Pass for $50.

XV. Video and Photo Rights: Unless otherwise agreed between CSI and specific members of the Media, all copyrights and use thereof from video and photographic recording of the players while participating in or at the event will be solely owned by CSI.

XVI. Waiver of Liability: The player acknowledges that by agreeing to participate in the event that any rightsofrecoveryhe/shemayhaveagainstCSIforpersonalinjuryordamagetopropertywhilstparticipat-ing in the event are waived.

XVII. Travel and Accommodations: The player will be solely responsible for all travel to and from the event venue, accommodations and subsistence for the duration of the event.

$60 Per Night / 8 Night Minimum: This special tournament rate is available until the normal reservation cutoff date (04/12/11), or until group room nights begin to sell out.
