Porcar i

Porcari is a pretty village in Lucca. In this little town there are a lot of things to do and see. First of all there is the little hill, the “Torretta”.

From here you can enjoy a great view. A bit further down there is a nice church that is a copy of the Romanic Style. It is dedicated to San Giusto.

Near the church there is a manor, “Villa Grassini”. It is a building dating back to 1800 within which the history of Porcari and Lucca has passed.

In short, it is a wonderful building to visit. In the town hall square there is an interesting building, the “Fondazione Lazzareschi”. It takes its name from “Giuseppe Lazzareschi”,who was an important man for the Porcari history. Here a lot of social and cultural initiatives are promoted.

Also near the Collegio Cavanis there is a sport field and some times, sporting initiatives are held. At last there is a little nice hotel near the station, were people can stay. Getting here is very simple because from Lucca you can take the bus or the train, that pass from Porcari.

In conclusion Porcari is a wonderful village where you can do and see many interesting things and you really mustn’t miss it!
