London’s Transport
Our programme of excur-sions will help you to max-
imise your time in London. If you wish to experience our
transportation system the quickest but most expensive
method is to use our famous London black taxis. They have an orange ‘For Hire’ sign which
is illuminated if available and you should raise your hand to indicate to the driver that you want a fare. For public transport you can pay a single ride fare, a return journey fare, or pur-chase a one-day travel card (zones 1–4 cover the central London area) which can be used on both buses and tubes (underground). Our uniformed Local Hosts will provide exact routes and directions upon request.
Shopping
London stores are usually open every day with varying trading hours. Our uniformed Local Hosts are available to provide advice and directions to our renowned shop-ping areas and department stores.
Currency Exchange
Post Offices and larger branches of Marks & Spencer usually offer the best rates for currency exchange without charging commission. ATM machines are easy to spot through-out London; we often refer to them as ‘hole in the wall’ machines. Please check with your uniformed Local Host for where the best currency facility is in relation to your hotel. Your Tour Director will advise on currency exchange throughout your tour.
