IB-MYP IB-Diploma Program
• Similar to the JWMS inclusive model, beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, Richard Montgomery High School is working to implement an inclusive MYP for grades 9 and 10 as well.
• Students will be eligible to apply to the IB Magnet Diploma Program in Grade 8 if enrolled in Algebra 1 or higher; in level one or higher of French, Chinese, or Spanish; in two or more gifted and talented or advanced courses or upon successful completion of the IB MYP in Grade 10, enrolled in level 3 or higher in a world language and in and Algebra 2 or higher.

• Our goal: two books-one fiction and one non-fiction
• Students may complete a graphic organizer for each book
• Students should come prepared to discuss the books on the first day of school

Student Service Learning (SSL)
• Students must earn 75 hours of SSL to graduate from any Public High School in Maryland.
• Students may start earning SSL hours during the summer following their 5th grade year.
• Students may earn 10 hours of SSL for activities infused into the grade 6 science curriculum.
