Mornings are a perfect time for exploring the area and a walk to the top of Norries Headland for breathtaking views and possible sightings of dolphins, turtles and the majestic humpback whales (from June through to November).

A wonderful way to experience the local community is to utilise one of the Halcyon bikes and head north along the winding path that connects Cabarita to Kingscliff.

Byron Bay, Bangalow, Murwillumbah, Brunswick Heads, Kingscliff and Newrybar are all located within 40 minutes of Halcyon House

and make perfect destinations for day trips and exploring.

Paper Daisy

The dining experience at award winning Paper Daisy is a celebration of our unique part of the world. Confident coastal cooking in a relaxed setting, the food expresses the very best of the region’s unique produce and bourgeoning culinary reputation. With one of Australia’s most exciting chefs Jason Barratt (ex-Stokehouse and Attica) leading the kitchen, the ethos that drives the restaurant is one of sophisticated simplicity, producing dishes that are satisfying, thoughtful and deeply memorable.

We welcome our guests to treat it as their dining room and invite you to join us for leisurely breakfasts, languid lunches and dinners that roll through the night.

Paper Daisy is open for breakfast from 7.00am to 10.00am.

Our lunch menu offers a variety of options that may be enjoyed in Paper Daisy, at the bar or by the pool between the hours of 12.00 and 5.00pm.

Dinner is available in Paper Daisy from 6:00pm to 9.00pm.

Halcyon Signature Picnic

Let us organise a picnic on the beach for you, fully catered by Paper Daisy for lunch or an early dinner while the sun sets.

Halcyon Bicycles

Explore Cabarita Beach and beyond on two wheels with Halcyon House’s fleet of complimentary bicycles. Each bike comes with a helmet, lock and quick safety explanation before you’re off enjoying the coastline. Cycle north to the township of nearby Kingscliff or south to Hastings Point for a refreshing dip in Cudgera Creek.

Surfing

Surf the famous Cabarita break on one of our handcrafted McTavish surfboards. Private surfing lessons are available on request, and cater for beginners through to intermediate levels of experience.

Stand Up Paddleboarding

Take a leisurely paddle on a SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) on Cudgen Creek at Kingscliff, Cudgera Creek at Hastings Point, Cudgen Lake or even catch a wave at Cabarita Beach.

Horse Riding

Explore Byron Bay’s beaches and hinterland on horseback. Suitable for all experience levels.

Yoga

Complimentary yoga is available on Saturday morning on the lawn between the beach and the hotel. Weather permitting. Please contact the concierge to reserve a space. Private lessons also available on request.

Snorkelling With Turtles

Experience snorkelling with turtles all year round at the Cook Island Turtle Sanctuary. Approximately four hours in duration, these boat tours are exceptional and offer not only swimming with Green Sea Turtles but also the opportunity to see dolphins, humpback whales (from June to November), starfish and other marine life.

Scuba Diving

There are amazing scuba diving opportunities close to Halcyon House including dives at the shark gutters of Nine Mile Reef, the deep dark caves of the Kingscliff Pinnacles and the turtle sanctuary at Cook Island.

Fishing

Fishing experiences available to guests range from beach or boat fishing with a local professional to a full day trip to outback Queensland involving a helicopter. Package inclusions can include limousine transfers, beverages and meals.

Halcyon Bespoke Tours

Take a day tour to Byron Bay, Bangalow and Brunswick Heads in the luxury of Halcyon House's Mercedes V Class Van complete with guide and the ease of knowing that parking will not be an issue. Enjoy local sights such as the Cape Byron Lighthouse and Wategoes Beach, and boutique shopping in quaint country towns.

Alternatively, stay local and visit Husk Distillers, Farm & Co, Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Centre and finish with a swim in Kingscliff's Cudgera Creek.

Local Quandong Salted Popcorn cooked in either olive oil or butter $10. Available between 12.00pm and 10.00pm.

Guest Check-out

Check-out is before 11.00am. If you require your luggage to be stored post check-out please contact reception.

Television

Your guest room TV is equipped with Foxtel channels and Apple TV for your entertainment so you may login into your Apple or Netflix accounts. (Apple TV = HDMI source).

Air Conditioning

Your guest room is equipped with a small switch board to control your room temperature. Should you need any assistance please contact Reception.

Taxis & Ubers

We highly recommend booking transfers or pre-booking the taxi service to avoid delays, especially for departures heading to the Airport for scheduled flights. Ubers are extremely rare in the area.

Private Transfers

Halcyon House offers private door to door transfers in our Mercedes V Class. Please enquire with Concierge for specific destinations and rates.

Emergency & Evacuation Procedures

In case of an emergency, please contact Reception and notify our Staff. Leave your room, closing the door behind you, please use the stairs to reach the nearest exit.

Babysitting

Qualified babysitters can be organised for you during your stay. All babysitters have previous childcare experience, current First Aid and CRP Certificates along with Blue Card and Working with Children checks.

Laundry & Dry Cleaning

The laundry service is available daily. Items delivered before 10.00am will be returned the same day. For items received after this time, the return delivery will be made the following day before 8.00pm.Express service is also available at an additional cost. Please check the laundry list in your room for detailed information and prices.

Pool

The swimming pool is open exclusively for Halcyon House guests only between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm. The following applies to all guests using the pool area. • No diving please! Max

pool depth is 1.9 metres. • Children under 12 years of

age must be accompanied by an adult.

• Please do not wear any footwear in the pool.

• Appropriate swimming attire must be worn.

• Waterproof nappies are to be worn by all babies and toddlers – they can be purchased at reception for $5

• Please be considerate of other guests by wearing headphones when using musical devices.

Safe

Your guest room is equipped with a safe to store your personal belongings and valuables. The safe can be found in your wardrobe.

Smoking

Halcyon House is a non smoking property throughout. For the comfort of all guests we thank you in anticipation for your co-operation. A fee of $1500 will be charged to the guest should the fire alarm be activated and the fire department is called. A fee of $500 will be charged to the guest should the room need to be cleaned due to smoking.

Wildlife

We’re lucky to share our environment with a number of native animals such as birds and reptiles, including our resident water dragon named Elliot. For your safety, we ask that you not feed these animals and remain cautious when walking in nature around the property and in the wider region.
