Behold, Now is the Day of Salvation

2 Corinthians 6:2

*Call to Worship (Unison) Psalm 16, selected verses

Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.”

Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows;

The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;

I have a goodly heritage.

I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;

in the night also my heart instructs me.

I keep the Lord always before me;

because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also rests secure.

*Hymns of Praise Congregational ChoicesDuring the summer months, we invite the congregation to choose our opening hymns.

We will sing one or two verses of two or three hymns each week.

*Call to Confession

*Unison Confession with Silent Prayer and Meditation

God of Living Hope,

I’ve done it again Lord. I just knew last Sunday that I would be more

faithful. I just knew last Tuesday that I would better reflect your love. I just

knew last Friday that I would boldly show the world your grace. Yes, Lord,

I just knew that by this Sunday, I would be a better person and a more

faithful Christian. But Sunday is here and I haven’t really changed. In fact,

. . . well you know what I did and didn’t do this week. Forgive me Lord.

Forgive my drifting faith. Forgive and inspire me to continue to grow into

the person you envision me to be . . . . . .
