The student handbook has specific dress code information that we expect all students to follow.

•However we've noticed some things we'd like to highlight

•Boys - remember to wear a belt and have pants on their waste. If they have a hat it should be on their pants loop while in the building.•Girls - Skirts and shorts should be to the end of their finger tips. Leggings are not considered as pants. Language Arts Course Description

The sixth grade English/Language Arts curriculum will follow the Common Core State Standards for Literacy. These standards are based on four areas of study:

Reading (literature and informational text) Writing Speaking and Listening Language

To be ready for college, workforce training, and life in a global society, students need the ability to gather, comprehend, evaluate, synthesize, and report on information and ideas, to conduct original research in order to answer questions or solve problems, and to analyze and create a high volume and extensive range of print and non-print texts in media forms old and new.

Interactive Student Notebook, My Obsession!

INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK

To provide organizational skills in

Language Arts, we use an interactive

notebook in class. The notebook enables

students to interact with teacher input

and allow them to respond, create,

interpret, and judge concepts learned in

class.

Students are responsible for keeping the

notebook neat and organized for

notebook checks.

Notebook checks may be announced or

unannounced and are counted A GRADE.
