Welcome to Chase BridgeOur vision is for all children to excel at learning, be able to
express their talents and know how to care for others.
Summer 2019
“Let children be children. A
skilled five year old grows
from a busy four year old, a

adventurous one year old
and a communicative baby.”

Home Visits and
Teacher/Parent Conferences
Home visits are ‘short and sweet’ (15-20 minutes) to give your child the opportunity to meet us in their own familiar environment
If your child attended Nursery at Chase Bridge, you will be offered a school visit instead of a home visit
These meetings are an important opportunity for you to share any personal information that will help us to ensure your child makes a great start

Starting School – a quick goodbye… On the way to school, talk to your child about all the
exciting learning they will be doing: ‘I wonder if the dinosaurs
will be out today?’
Remind them of the friends they will be seeing.
Drop off with a smile (even if you are struggling to fight back
the tears). Assure them that they will have fun at school,
learning new things. If you look scared or anxious it will make
them feel unsure about the situation – be the best actor you
can be! A quick goodbye is best.
If your child is upset, it is helpful to remind them of what they
will do after school – going to the park, off to the high street,
nanny and granddad picking up etc.

Any Medical Needs?
We need information about any
medical conditions or specific needs
that might affect your child as soon as
possible
We must have this information to
ensure we are prepared to meet your
child's needs. It may be necessary to
prepare a health care plan; this will
usually be authorised by your G.P.
Please contact Ms Gray if you have any
questions or concerns
Reception Curriculum Evening
There will be a curriculum evening during the first term
where you will be invited to learn more about how and what
the children will be learning.
Children make rapid progress in Reception
… if children’s attendance is good!
Average attendance in the school is about 97%
We do not authorise holidays

Any questions?
Pupil Premium
If you are in receipt of particular benefits your child will be
eligible for the Pupil Premium.
This could mean that the school will help pay towards the
cost of school uniform, clubs and also special class trips or
workshops.
The form will be given to you at your home/school visit.
If you require help with completing the form, Sue Wood
(Family Worker) and the office staff are happy to help.
LD
What do I do if...
My child is ill? Please ring school as soon as possible
and leave a message on the answer phone. If your
child has had sickness or diarrhoea they will need to
wait 48 hours before returning to school.
Punctuality is very important for your child … BUT
… if you are late for a session: You will need to
bring your child to the main entrance where they
will be marked in as late and taken round to class.
I am late picking up after school? Please ring school
as soon as possible. Your child will stay in the main
reception area with an adult until you arrive.
Someone else is picking up my child? Please put a
message in the message book or ring the office and
the message will be passed to us. Your child will not
be allowed to go home with somebody else if we
have not been told.
