Art 1 is an introductory art course focused on and builtaround the elements of art and principles of design.

Dont worry, we will do a lot of reviewing in case you havent

had an art class in awhile or werent paying attention in BasicDesignshame on you!

You will be introduced to artists, concepts, techniques,and styles from the past and present.

These artists, concepts, and styles will be the driving forcebehind what we will discuss and create this semester.

Fuhgeddaboudit.Do you really want to invite roaches & mice

to your food party? GROSS.

Absolutely NO completing homework for otherclasses in this room.

If I see it happening, I will tear up your work and inform that

teacher what youve done. I cant help it. Its a natural,

instant reaction. It cannot be stopped.There will be NO cell phone usage in class. Should I

find you secretly texting or worse - actually having a phone

conversation in class (people still do that?!) - you will

instantly receive a referral and your phone will be

confiscated.

You are to treat this room and my supplies like a

newborn baby.

You will not write or paint on anything thats not paper.

You will not bang on anything in this room.You will not harm anything in this room in any way.

In this class, we go by the GRANDMA

RULE.

Im pretty easy going, and I like to joke

around, but

-If you wouldnt say it to your Grandma,youre definitely not going to say it here.

-If you wouldnt behave a certain way in

front of your Grandma, youre sure as heck

not going to behave that way here.

And dont even try and tell me your

Grandma doesnt care that you say or do

awful things, because I know that shes a

sweet, classy woman.

Dont embarrass heror yourself!

Poor behavior, language, and/or decisionmaking will result in:

1. A stern, verbal warning, possibly in

front of the class, which is always

embarrassing.(OUCH.)

2. A phone call and/or email home.

(Double OUCH.)

3. A referral and a very disappointed

Grandma.

(You should be ashamed!)

4. A damaged student-teacher

relationship between you and I. (Far

worse than any referral, I

assure you.)

5/5 rule: You will not be allowed toleave the class during the FIRST or

LAST 5 minutes of class to use the

bathroom. SHHHDont even ask.

You MUST take the clipboard withyou. NO EXCEPTIONS.

If you are gone longer than 15

minutes total, I will assume youre

cutting my class, resulting in areferral. This hurts my feelings, our

student-teacher relationship, &

eventually your grade. Dont even try

to say you had to drop adeuceTHATS NASTY!
