Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two

by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. He said to

them, "Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave.

Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, leave

there and shake the dust off your feet in testimony against

them." - Mk 6:7, 10-11

Sarah* had developed a prescription drug addiction, and when

her grandchildren stopped returning her calls, she felt she had

nothing else to live for. After surviving a suicide attempt, her

pastor recommended seeking help at a Catholic Charities

Counseling Program. They helped her set up a regular

medication schedule, join a support group, and rebuild some of

the relationships that had been hurt over the years. Now, she

only has a monthly check-in appointment and feels like her life is

on the right track.

Sarah is not alone: Last year, nearly 20,000 seniors came to

Catholic Charities agencies for assistance with counseling or

mental health services. To learn more, please visit
