Prayer Needs
Welcome to our Sunday morning worship. This morning we will continue a series of lessons from the book of
Ezekiel. If you haven’t already, take some time during these weeks to read through this prophet. Continuing my Covenant Sunday review, today let’s be reminded of our fifth pledge—Sharing my faith. In Matthew’s gospel Jesus’ last words are the command to spread the message of the kingdom of heaven to the entire world, and that’s exactly what we see the early Christians doing. In the book of Acts the church starts in Jerusalem but in a matter of decades the message is spread throughout the entire Roman Empire. In the centuries to come the gospel made its way to the rest of the world so that today the message of Christ is known around the globe. Christians took the command seriously so that others could hear the saving message of the gospel. And the work continues. The command is still relevant today. As Christians we are also charged with sharing our faith with those far and near. I recently read, “We are not saved to be silent.” So let’s keep spreading the news that Jesus is Lord.
