They will continue their investigations into occupations, weapons and warfare, spinning, weaving and cloth dyeing. All 3rd and 4th graders are welcome!
She and her husband, who live in Denver, CO, are currently involved in a ministry that focuses on providing practical resources for churches and individuals pursuing a deeper relationship with God. Valentine’s Day Valentine’s day is another time of year when commercials flood all of our media with efforts to convince us that we should be spending money. To be sure I have spent a fair amount on this day over the years and this year it was fun to be able to think about showing affection for my wife in this way on our first Valentine’s Day together. We like remembering too that we started dating on a Valentine’s day four years ago. So to be fair, I have certainly been a part of the wave of
people who buy flowers, cards, and chocolates on or just before this holiday. But it has me thinking about love and what it costs. If I asked just about anyone on the street, I imagine they would say that love can’t be bought or sold. That it is something too virtuous and beautiful to possibly have a price tag. And I believe that to be so. I believe that true love, romantic or otherwise, is not something that can be commod-ified. Yet when I think about the greatest love of all, the love of God, I find that there is a price involved.
There is a cost of our sins says Paul in Romans and that cost was paid in full by Jesus Christ on the cross. Praise God!
Seniors and Parents Parents, please forgive me but It is my duty to inform you that graduation is approaching. Senior Sunday and the banquet will be May 22nd. Please make plans to be present if you want your senior honored that day. In addition be looking for information from me in the mail with further details as we plan to honor your student. Enjoy your last semester, seniors!

Good Morning, Church! I’m glad you’re here this morning. Today we celebrate marriage. We will recognize some specific couples for special anniversaries, but today we celebrate marriage and all that God intended and designed it to be. Marriage isn’t easy. Two broken people trying to do life together can’t possibly occur without trials. But marriage is a beautiful thing and today we’ll celebrate the way God has worked in the marriages at Park Avenue.
Speaking of marriage, our Marriage Retreat is scheduled for March 18-20. Last year the twenty couples who joined us came back raving about the venue, the speakers, and our time together. I expect a similar response this year. We have 12 spots remaining for our retreat. The cost is $250 per couple - I know that’s not cheap, but ask anyone who went, it’s a steal. Take a look at the venue! Our speaker will be Dr. Corey Allan of Sim-pleMarriage.net. He’s a gifted presenter and mar-riage counselor. I know he will bless and challenge and sharpen those couples who are able to attend this retreat. See me for questions and to sign up!
TODAY immediately after worship there will be a TOGO
INTEREST MEETING in the atrium. This mission trip is
planned for June 2-16. We will be doing an eye clinic with
Dr. Greg Clay, a possible dental clinic, working with the two
orphanages in the city of Vogan, and projects at the local
Christian School that was recently constructed. If you are
interested and have questions, stop by the atrium afterwards.
There will be a LET’S GET ACQUAINTED luncheon for
all new members and guests immediately following worship
on February 28th. Mark your calendar and join our staff and
eldership for a great meal.

Serving Park Avenue
Sermon Notes
We are honored to have you with us this morning. A warm welcome to all our members — how good and pleasant it is for us to worship together! And a special welcome to our guests! Please take a few
minutes to visit with us after services. Stop by the welcome centers in the main hallways for more information and a free gift from us. Let us know how we can serve you.
Grace Offering. In preparation we are asking everyone to consider observing a two week period of pray-er and fasting from March 14– March 27. We will provide more information on that as the time gets nearer. The Sunday before, March 20, we will bring in Daisy’s Little Red Wagon for our coin collection. Be filling up those jars and cans! I hope you’ve noticed we have been having great attendance in Bible class and worship. What a joy and blessing to see you all here growing in your relationship with God and adding joy to our assemblies.
Because of the larger crowds, we are experi-encing a parking crunch. We are dis-cussing and planning for a long-term solution but in the meantime please consider park-ing on the grass to the north on the building at the former location of the house we recently
acquired and demolished. The house’s driveway is still useable off of Park Avenue and you can enter there and park on the grass. I gave it a trial run this week and, provided the weather is suitable, the ground is firm and it’s really no further than the parking on the east side of the building. Thanks!
Good morning and wel-come to our gathering. We’re so glad you have joined us.
This morning Wes will be preaching addressing the sixth pledge from Covenant Sunday—Keeping Christ at the center of my family. Incorporated into his sermon will be our annual Celebration of Marriage. Today we will be recog-nizing couples celebrating anniver-saries from 5 years to 60 years. Next Sunday I will wrap up this preaching series as we discuss living in hopeful expectation of Christ’s return. Last Saturday a group of men met for breakfast in the Ark and then went on to help remodel a house that has been donated to Taking it to the Streets, a ministry serving the homeless of Grayson County. After the remodel, the house will be sold to help fund the activities of that ministry. Thanks to all who came out to help and share their expertise. Easter comes early this year, March 27, and again this year we are also designating that Sunday for our
