The Alhambra High School counselors strive to assist students in achieving success in all aspects of their lives.

Counselors get to know their students in grade nine and remain involved with them throughout high school, providing individual, ongoing guidance on academic, personal, extracurricular, and post-secondary options.

DRAMA 1: Introductory course: Students learn the tools of the actor: Voice, body and

imagination.

Students must be willing to take risks, perform in front of their peers, memorize lines and blocking as well as interact cooperatively with fellow actors.

BAND: Fall: Marching Band and Spring: Concert Band Performances at football games, parades and festivals will be a large part of this class.

ORCHESTRA: This is a performance class for all students with previous experience playing a string instrument. Evening performances are required in this class.

Prerequisite: Recommendation from the Middle School Music Teacher

ART SURVEY: Hands-on exploration with 2D and 3D materials. Explores cultural & historical connections in the arts.

ART 1: Emphasizes the Elements of Art, technique with a variety of drawing and painting media, and a variety of culturally diverse subject matter.

PHOTOGRAPHY 1: Intro course in traditional photography using a camera with black & white 35mm film. Students will study the history of photography, as well as learn to take, develop and print their own photos.

CERAMICS 1: Students will learn the building blocks of ceramics including: Coiling, Slab, Pinch, Hand building and Introduction to the wheel.

AUTO 1: Covers all basic automotive systems such as, the internal combustion engine. 2nd

Semester focuses on Auto Electrical & Basic Engine Performance.

WOODWORKING 1:

Students learn the safe use of basic woodworking machines, tools, materials, techniques and processes to produces quality pieces of woodwork.

COMPUTER-ASSISTED DRAFTING (CAD 1):Using advanced industry software from Autodesk students learn a variety of CAD (Computer Assisted Design) techniques covering 2D drafting as well as creating 3D computer models of products & architecture.
