WELCOME BACK and A VERY FRIENDLY and WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW FAMILIES!
Visit to the Shrine
Our Year 6 students represented Fairhills PS for the Children’s Service at the Shrine of Remembrance on
Wednesday 3rd April. Our School Captains Lillian & John laid a wreath on our behalf. Thankyou Mrs
WALDRON and Mr Mat PENDLE for accompanying the students and to the Yarra Valley Legacy for
making our participation possible.

THURSDAY 2nd MAY
Please wear our School Council approved FPS school uniform and be neat and tidy on the day
NO SPORTS TOPS PLEASE
Let’s ALL get………
a regular sleep pattern
the right amount of time in bed
a quiet, dark comfortable bedroom that isn’t too hot or too cold
down time – reading a book and listening to relaxing gentle music help
AND KEEP
all distracting electronic equipment (including TVs) OUTSIDE the bedroom
Let’s ALL keep safe……..
Our high priority is SAFETY.
Students who are not picked up by 3.45 and who are not attending the SHERPA after school care
program MUST come to the front office. Please reinforce this with your children.
Asthma Awareness:
our school recognises that students diagnosed with asthma need to be supported. We need to know what
can trigger it in individual students so that we can work with you to provide support and treatment if
required. We do our very best to reduce asthma triggers in our immediate environment where possible.
Please make sure that your child’s ASTHMA CARE PLAN is kept up-to-date and that the information
required for the Student Health Care Support Plan is current if your child has asthma. It is excellent for
parents to encourage their child to learn to manage their asthma including recognising triggers.
Sshhhhhh! Mothers’ Day stall coming up………….
Keep safe

Ways you can prepare for camp…
Early in Term 3 our grade 3/4 students will have the opportunity to go on camp. For many students this
will be their first camp, and possibly their first trip for multiple nights away from home. To help make this
experience as successful as possible for the students there are many things that you could do to prepare
your child for camp.
Sleepovers at cousins, grandparents and friends’ houses.
Practise using a knife and fork, and emphasise table manners at home and when eating at a
restaurant.
Shower and understand the importance of having a shower on camp.
Discuss camp with them, and how they are feeling about sleeping in a new place with their
friends.
Packing and re-packing their bags to practise keeping track of their belongings.
Discuss which soft toy/teddy they will be taking with them to keep them company at night time.
