The Weishaupt WG10 and WG20 gas burners join the WG5, WG30 and WG40 to complete the line-up of products successfully introduced over the course of the last few years.

As with all new W series Weishaupt burners, the WG10 and WG20 burners also usethe latest microprocessor technology for the control and monitoring of all burnerfunctions.

As a result not only do they offer improved precision and ease of use, but they alsorepresent fantastic value for money.

New W series capacity range

Mixing headAn outstanding detail of the low-emissionLN burners is the specially developedmixing head. The specific way in whichcombustion air and gas are introducedleads to intensive flue gas recirculation.

Various tests and results from the fieldhave shown that the NOx limit of ≤ 40 ppm (calculated as NO2), which isrequired in many countries for naturalgas, can be improved upon as long ascertain combustion chamber conditionsare adhered to. With correspondingcombustion chamber conditions, figuresof ≤ 58 ppm can be achieved with LPG.

EconomicalThe best technology, functional designand proven quality have always been thehallmarks of Weishaupt products. Withthe WG10 and WG20 gas burners, weare introducing new burners thatcontinue this tradition in an exemplaryfashion. They fulfil the demand foreconomical and environmentally friendlyoperation combined with a low purchasecost.

Fully automatic operationThe burners function fully automatically. They reliably cater for multifarious heatexchangers for heating and hot water.

Compact constructionAll of the new burner type’s componentsare brought together into a compactspace.

The fuel and air regulating componentsare clearly laid out and easily accessible. The mixing head can be accessed frombehind and completely removed. Theburner can be hung on the left hand sideof the casing during servicing. Thisenables easy access to the fan inparticular. An easily removable coverprotects all the components and electrics.

Noteworthy points: The radial fan, thesound absorbing air inlet housing, the airdamper for suction side air regulationand the microprocessor controlledcombustion manager. The W-ZG 01electronic ignition unit, which hasreplaced the ignition transformer on all W series Weishaupt burners, providesreliable ignition.

Error-free plug connectionCoded plug connections ensure thecorrect electrical connection of allcomponents.

Gas multi-function assemblyThe newly conceived multifunctionassembly comprises the followingcomponents/functions:• Servo controlled gas regulator for a

constant gas pressure• 2 solenoid valves• Low gas pressure switch

If the gas pressure drops too far thelow gas program is initiated.

Operational safety and reliability.Proven technology makes the new gasburners safe and reliable. The individualcomponents as well as the completedproduct are comprehensively tested, guaranteeing safe operation for manyyears.

Test proceduresThe WG10 and WG20 gas burnerscomply with European and NorthAmerican applicable standards,including:• UL std 795 - 1999• CGA std 3.4 - 1973• CAN/CSA std C22.2 No.3 - 1988• CGA std 3.0 - 1968

FuelsThe following fuels can be fired: NaturalGas as well as Liquid Petroleum Gas.

In standard version, the burners and gastrain are only suitable for indooroperation.

W-FM 10 combustion managerThe W-FM 10 combustion managerindependently monitors and controls allof the burner’s functions.

Digital combustion management makescommunication with other systemspossible. The BUS connection allows theengineer to monitor the sequence ofoperations and diagnose any faultconditions.

The main details:• Microprocessor controlled combustion

manager for single and two stageoperation

• Identical for both oil and gas burners• Ionization flame monitoring• 7 and 4 pole connection plug

integrated into burner housing• Electrical remote reset• BUS connection• Prepurge time can be set by computer

via the BUS• Safety via two microprocessors

(reciprocal monitoring)• Multi color LED annunciation to

indicate operational stage and faultconditions

• Suitable for hot water plant, includingcontinuous operation (After 24 hoperation a necessary short shutdowntakes place automatically)

• Suitable for air heaters and steamboilers

Digital combustion management makescommunication with other systemspossible. The BUS connection allows theengineer to monitor the sequence ofoperations and diagnose any faultconditions.

The main details:• Identical construction for oil and gas

burners• Automatic recognition of gas or oil

burner• Easy operation via a key on the display

panel• LCD display to show the following

– Operating mode with ratings setting– Information mode– Hours run

- Number of burner starts- Measured fuel consumption withcorresponding gas meter

- Unit number- Software version

- Date of manufacture– Service mode

- Burner setting values - Error message display

– Parameter mode- Air damper setting at burnershutdown

- Post purge time- BUS address

– Error messages• Electronic compound fuel/air

regulation to given characteristics• Control of stepping motors• Multifunctional Bus connection to:

– PC for presentation of theoperational sequence and setting offunction parameters

– Remote monitoring and diagnosisvia self-dialling modem

– Interfacing with other componentsof the heating plant (e.g. controlleror DDC unit)

Installation, setting and service:Easier, quicker and more precise than ever before

Time is moneyWeishaupt burners of this rating are alsoeasy to install. It is possible for oneperson to mount the burner on the boiler.

Optimum accessibilityOptimum accessibility becomesapparent the moment the cover isremoved. All the components are clearlylaid out, electrical connection isunmistakable. The components are also easily accessible for servicing.

The mixing head can be matched to therequired rating with the setting screw. It can be accessed from behind andcompletely removed with ease. This stateof the art technology is typical ofWeishaupt products.

The motor block can be removed andplaced into a service position forservicing the fan. Every service engineerbenefits from this accommodatingconstruction.

Easy removal of the mixing head

The service position allows good access to the fan.

* The burner ratings are based on lower calorific value

Depending on the altitude of the installation, a reduction in capacity of approx. 1% per 328 ft. above sea level mustbe taken into consideration.

Minimum 275 MBTU/h rating at high fire for WG20.
