THE SUMMER ERUV is in need of extensive repair (we
have had a difficult year, weather-wise). The
scheduled date for repairs is Sunday, June 22. We
will meet in the parking lot at 8:30 AM (following the
early morning 7:30 AM Mnyan) and complete repairs
by 12:30 PM (IY"H). Once again, wear pants, hat,
long sleeved shirt - bug spray and a good hammer
are strongly suggested as we will be working in a
forested and heavy undergrowth area. All those who

Dear YIEB Member,
There will be a congregational meeting on Tuesday
June 10th at 8:30 PM. At this meeting we will vote
on the board slate for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.
The main part of the meeting will be a review of the
2013-2014 fiscal results by our current treasurer,
Suri Moskowitz. After this review, a presentation will
be made by next year's treasurer and president of
the proposed budget for the 2014-2015 fiscal year; a
congregational vote will then take place regarding
adopting the proposed budget. The 2013-2014 fiscal
results are attached to this email in addition to the
proposed budget for next year. YIEB's current bank
account balances will be reviewed with members at
the congregational meeting.
Additionally, at the meeting we will be updating the
congregation on the steps the YIEB Board of Directors
has taken in response to the strategic planning survey
and the overwhelming response from YIEB members
to explore building expansions.

MESSAGE FROM THE NORPAC MISSION LEADERSHIP
The NORPAC leadership wants you to know that we
have already seen tangible results from the recent
mission. Your participation matters! Here is a
summary of the exciting developments:
1. The Hezbollah International Financial Prevention
Act had 24 cosponsors prior to the NORPAC Mission.
Now there are over 100 cosponsors for the House bill.
2. Sen. Marco Rubio (R- Fla.) agreed to co-introduce
similar Hezbollah legislation in the Senate.
3. On the Mission day we added a 60th Senate
cosponsor (John Walsh D-MT) onto the Menendez-Kirk
Iran Sanctions Bill- a Herculean feat given the
President's pressure to delay that bill.
4. Rep. Alan Grayson (D- Fla.) prepared legislation to
cut off funding for higher education institutions which
support BDS (Boycott Divestment Sanctions) of Israel.

ABBEY” EXHIBIT, Wednesday, June 25th

the famous du Pont estate, museum and gardens
in Delaware on Wednesday, June 25. Bus leaves

TORAHKID LEAGUES is back again for its 5th
exciting season! Sunday morning sports fun for
area children at the local Highland Park High
School field. There are separate boys (ages 5-13;
10:45-12:30) and girls (ages 6-13, all-female staff;
9:15-10:30) programs at different times. The
instruction provides skill-building with an emphasis
on Middos development in a Torah-friendly
environment; competitive play in different sports.

• JRecovery: A New Support Group for Addicts,
Family & Friends - Free, anonymous, and safe,
Jewish self-help group to complement 12-step
programs. The support group meets Monday

JFVS adult day care services offers a supportive 3
day a week program for the growing number of
seniors in our community. Members can have the
opportunity to participate in a variety of social,
recreational and educational activities. The
program can enhance independence, socialization,
self esteem and foster relationships for those who
are socially isolated.
The Elder Day Program accepts individuals with
mild to moderate dementia; age criteria 60+. A
senior service and completion of clinical
assessment is required to determine eligibility and
if this type of program will meet the needs of the
client.
