First CommunionOur second grade students celebrated their First Holy Communion this past Saturday. Fr. Dennis presided over a beautiful Mass, Mrs. Stach led the students in song, and the children were precious angels as they received Christ's Body and Blood for the first time.

Raffle drawing prizes for school families who give:

1. Day passes for four to Six Flags Fiesta Texas

2. Tickets for a family of four to the Magik Theater

3. A gift from the Cardinal School Store

If we work together as a community for the success of this year’s Big Give, we can match or even surpass the outcome of last year’s event by winning extra prizes for highest number of unique donors!

• If you plan to give as a family, please consider registering your donations separately so that your gift will be divided evenly among family members. GiveGab has informed me that they identify unique donors through email accounts. (For example, if the Smith family wanted to give a total of $50, Mrs. Smith could create an account with her email address in order to give $25 and Mr. Smith could create a separate account linked to his email and give another $25. Thus, we will have two unique donors instead of just one!)

• As you all know, there is strength in numbers and we are the largest elementary and middle school in the Archdiocese! If every family shares the link: https://www.thebiggivesa.org/organizations/st-matthew-catholic-school with at least 3 acquaintances or relatives who will give even a small amount to SMCS on May 4th (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins or dear friends), then our number of unique donors will grow exponentially. Please be sure to share this link with all of your friends in our Parish, too!

• We can plan to give as a community during a specific time slot. Last year, we won “most unique donors” during the 9:00 am slot. Let’s attempt to recreate our success! If you plan to give, please consider doing so during the 9:00 am hour time slot.

All proceeds from the Big Give 2017 will go toward the Capital Campaign for St. Matthew. Our plan for Building the Future includes a new road that will provide a second entry to the campus from Vance Jackson, and a gym complex for CYO and AIAL sports. Each one of us here at St. Matthew will benefit from these much needed developments. Please help us to continue improving our campus and facilities so that our kids can enjoy a wonderful new venue for fellowship, faith and community. As always, thank you all for your participation, your donations, and your support on May 4th!
