By asking everyone to wear jeans, our academy will be helping fund projects that provide nursing care, equipment, acvity weekends, online support and counselling for children affected by a genec disorder. We will wear our jeans with the rest of our school uniform. £1 contribuon to be paid. Year 6 Kingswood Residenal — Monday 23 September — Wednesday 25 September A reminder that Year 6 go on their residenal shortly. If you require any further informaon regarding this trip, please speak to the Year 6 teachers. Cloth Hunt Workshop - Piece Hall, Halifax - 25, 26 and 27 Sept Pupils from the following classes will be vising the Piece Hall. The day will run from 10.00am-2.15pm and will involve an introducon to the Piece Hall, a hands-on cloth hunt workshop and self- conducted me to explore our three heritage spaces (with a bag of acvies). A leer will follow next week. Wed 25 September - Beech Class Thurs 26 September - Birch Class Fri 27 September - Ash Class Head lice We are aware that head lice are apparent in school. Would you please check your childs head and if necessary take precauons and apply the appropriate treatment. It is only if we are all vigilant that the problem will be removed and I hope that by acng together this can be achieved. Visit to Yorkshire Water, Sheffield - 1 October/3 October Our Year 5 pupils will be vising Yorkshire Water in Sheffield on the dates below. More informaon to follow. Key Dates and Information

Friday 20 September Akroydon Primary Academy will be wearing jeans to raise money. By asking everyone to wear jeans, our academy will be helping fund projects that provide nursing care, equipment, activity weekends, online support and counselling for children affected by a genetic disorder. Pupils from the following classes will be visiting the Piece Hall. The

Head lice

We are aware that head lice are apparent in school. Would you

please check your child’s head and if necessary take precautions

acting together this can be achieved.

Visit to Yorkshire Water, Sheffield - 1 October/3 October

Our Year 5 pupils will be visiting Yorkshire Water in Sheffield on the

dates below. More information to follow.

Email Reminder Please could you provide the academy with an up-to-date email if you haven’t already done so as this is our preferred way of communication. My Child at School Reminder Communication regarding MCAS was issued last week. Please set up your account in order to access payments and bookings. Refer to the Principals letter for a further update on this.

New Communication System—MCAS

There is a free app for you to download which will provide you with various pieces of information

about your child and will also allow you to pay for school lunches. To download this app, please

search ‘My Child At School’ in your chosen app store and follow the instructions. You should have

now received an email confirming your username and password. If you experience any

difficulties, please contact the academy in the first instance to check these details. The academy

ID is: 11826

The MCAS App only has brief information, in order to see detailed information and book onto trips

and clubs you will need to access your account via a web browser on your phone or PC:

A letter from the Principal will be issued regarding this.

After school Clubs

You should have already have received a letter either through email or your child’s book bag

before the holidays outlining the clubs on offer this term. You will receive a text to confirm which

club your child has been allocated. After school clubs will commence Monday 16 September. If

you have not already booked clubs this can be done online via your MCAS login.

PE Kits

A reminder that the academy PE kit is a Red Polo Shirt and Black Shorts with suitable trainers.

Please make sure that pupils have the correct kit. If there are any problems with this, please

contact your child’s teacher. PE kits need to stay at the academy all week and can be taken home

on Friday to be washed.

Academy Meals

If your child is receiving academy dinners, if you have not already done so, please ensure you

inform the office of their choices. See the academy office for the options.
