Carrots is Pod 3’s furriest member (disinfected daily). He was
feeling a little left out and downright irresponsible by not
wearing a mask! So the rest of Pod 3 found a beautiful green
mask for their bunny friend to wear!
Magna-tile Mansions
Last week we experimented a lot with light and
shadows. We built magna tile mansions but decided
they looked spooky and haunted when we put a light
on them and thought maybe the Adam’s family could
live there. Linnea and Issa wish they could meet
mortician Adams and show her the house.
Experiments with light and Shadows Due to new limitations we have found ourselves using media more in our programs and especially using our projector to take the
kids on virtual field trips and provide tools for learning from the intent but that got us thinking about how projections work and if
we could make our own. We knew we needed clear surfaces and that we could put other transparent images on it and came up
with these cup projectors!
Bracelet Weaving
Dayton and Hollynn Making Friendship
bracelets in pod 2. “Once you get the
hang of the patterns, it’s pretty easy and
it’s pretty distracting”
Geometric Soap Painting
We all know soap has been a hot
topic lately so we have been trying
to incorporate it into play. We
experimented with putting soap
and paint together and discovered
it makes a beautiful opaque effect
.we taped off geometrical shapes
with tape and had each kid paint
their own part leaving us with this
beautiful mural.
Horsing Around!
Last Monday we had a horse day.
We learned about jockeys, made
chariots to race and created finger
puppets and cork horses. “These
horses are getting married, they
would usually eat wood blocks but
they are going to eat pretend
spaghetti because it is their
wedding.” Said Makenzie.
Petit Plan Pressing
Continuing our projects in found nature we forged for native New Mexico
plants and discussed how to preserve them. Pod 4 decided to do plant
pressings of these pods and flowers and created these cute pieces of art.
