3) Notices from the Adventist Youth Department
1. The EJC Youth Ministries Department wishes to say a hearty thank you to the hundreds of youth and
supporters who turned out on Global Youth Day March 16, 2013 to bring hope to our suffering
brothers and sisters. Several children and golden age homes were visited including, Hiroshida Golden
Age Home in Trench Town, VIP Nursing Home on Druesdale Avenue in Kingston, Denham Town
Golden Age Home, The Good Samaritan Inn at Heroes’ Circle, Walker’s Place of Safety, Reddie’s
and Maxfield Park Children homes. Several shut-ins, elderly persons and street persons were fed and
their hair combed. Care packages were also distributed at some locations and mini worship services
held at most.
A Blood Donation Drive conducted at the EJC Office at 74 Constant Road saw fifty-eight (58) donors
contributing thirty (30) units of blood to the National Blood Bank.
The day came to a fitting end when hundreds of youth gathered at the Nelson Mandela Park in Half
Way Tree to celebrate God’s goodness in a Praise and Worship concert, where testimonies of the
day’s event were shared, rich music rendered and literature distributed to an eager audience.
The Youth Ministries Department applauds the contributions made by its willing youth leaders and
youth, the National Blood Bank, Facey Commodity and Jamaica National Building Society (Half
Way Tree Branch) among others in making the day a huge success.
