Trading Tips

Carefully consider the outlined risks and do your own research before entering or exiting a trade. Here are some tips: - Check the macro/sector sentiment on the day of the trade. If the market/sector is

down, expect the downward pressure on the stocks in that sector. It may be a buying opportunity if you expect a rebound or it could be time to sell your existing position if you expect the sentiment to worsen.

- Check the company’s filings on SEDAR. Look specifically for warrants, recent financings, deals that involve issuance of shares/warrants at a low or “deemed price” (meaning free). If you see asks being loaded or what looks like paper liquidation (typically done through Anonymous), it may be a good idea to set a stop loss near major support level or to sell if there is loose paper priced significantly below current stock price.

- Check the social media and popular stock forums (ceo.ca, stockhouse.com, etc.) for investor sentiment and due diligence shared by others. There may be a good reason why a certain stock is up/down or it could be just irrational fear or euphoria.

- Do not dismiss “bashers” or “pumpers” out of hand if they provide supporting evidence for their views.

- Do not fall in love with a stock, no matter how good the story is. There is always risk of delays, missteps by management and wider market sentiment changing. Consider locking at least partial profits or using a trailing stop loss on major swings up and using mental or actual stop loss below major support levels.

- Wildest swings in stock price (and volume) usually occur during the first and the last trading hours. It may be a good time to buy or sell, depending on sentiment.

- “Quiet Hour”, usually between 11:00am and 12:30pm, may present an opportunity to enter “hot” stocks that have run up significantly in the early trading and that you expect to keep running due to game changing news or other reasons. Most traders take a break during that time and a retrace is common with short sellers taking advantage of drop in volume and with nervous investors thinking the run may be coming to an end and panic-selling.

Market Outlook

There is no doubt that the main event of the upcoming week is the US presidential election. At least some volatility is guaranteed, no matter the outcome, but we are also facing a possibility of a contested election and/or social unrest. Markets don’t like uncertainty — something we have witnessed plenty of this year. If the outcome of the election is unclear, do not be surprised to see investors flee to safety, most stocks to sell off and liquidity to dry up in the short term. It is a good idea to have a good sized cash position and to take profits where there is an opportunity. Risk management/limiting losses becomes even more important in situations like that. Longer term picture looks far better for the markets, especially for precious metals. Both presidential candidates promised increased stimulus and infrastructure spending, meaning more money being created out of thin air, which bodes well for gold and silver. Biden/Harris ticket taking the win will likely spell at least a mini bull run for cannabis stocks but even republicans are warming up to the idea of country-wide legalization. Bitcoin should continue to make gains as more countries, banks and payment processors are looking to adopt digital currency transactions. Psychedelics sector is taking a breather right now but will make a comeback as more states/countries are considering legalization. COVID-19/pharma stocks continue to be both a safe haven from market fluctuations and rapid growth sector with battle against coronavirus expected to extend will into 2021.

WWW.AGSTOCKPICKS.COM 9

Market cap: $150MFloat: 35MLast close: 4.30

Snapshot: Biomed/energy management company with COVID-19 detection tech. Scaling in at 4.00 - 4.30 while managing risk with a stop loss. Risk: Medium. There’s still an open gap at 3.10 but also multiple catalysts in the pipeline. Strong support at 4.00 - 4.20 (psychological + EMA 20 + Fibonacci). Comments: Gap fill at 3.10 was attempted twice last week but failed, showing just how tightly held this float is. The entry point at 4.00+ is not as attractive but there are multiple catalysts pending that could send the stock to new highs within a week or two. KNR reported lower detection limits for their COVID-19 virus detection device last week. Meanwhile the Ontario government announced $700M earmarked for improving air quality in schools and government buildings. Within a few hours of the announcement, another government Twitter account put out a tweet about KNR’s BioCloud device. It could be a mere coincidence but it is clear that the government is looking seriously at BioCloud tech. In an earlier update, KNR state they expect commercialization to begin in early November.
