Weekend Closure of Arapahoe Road

Saturday, Sept. 23 to Sunday, Sept. 24 Arapahoe Road will be closed in both directions between Greenwood Plaza Boulevard and Dayton Street, as will all I-25 on- and off-ramps, for 48 hours. This closure is necessary to expedite asphalt paving work and maintain public safety while doing so.

This closure will be in effect from early morning, Saturday, Sept. 23, until 5:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 25. This short-term closure will combine at least three weeks of nightly lane, I-25 ramp and major intersection closures into a 48-hour period.

Business access will be limited from Arapahoe Road but will be maintained via local side streets (see back for the detour map). Please follow posted signs for the detour. This closure could impede delivery access, so if possible, we recommend coordinating deliveries beforehand.

Because asphalt paving is a weather-dependent activity that requires certain temperatures, the schedule could change. Therefore, we encourage the public to check construction updates or sign up for updates through codot.gov.

All major traffic impacts on the Arapahoe Road Interchange Reconstruction project are expected to be complete by late fall 2017. Intermittent lane restrictions will be needed through project completion to do things like landscaping, traffic signal installations and punch list work. This project is expected to finish ahead-of-schedule.

Detour Route

• Pedestrians will not be detoured and will remain on the south side of Arapahoe Road. Flaggers will be used if necessary.
