Class 7 would like to welcome Mario into our class. Hi everyone! This is Mario. I’m having a great time in my new class. My teacher Miss Gilbert is pretty cool. I’m learning a whole heap of new things. In the morning I do a Math Challenge and that is really challenging.

I had my first Music/Singing lesson at school. I had fun learning about different pitches. I even had a turn at the keyboard and to top the day off, I won first place in the Book Week Competition. I received a $20 gift card. By Dakota. WhooHoo!

Our class are doing self defence with Scott. It’s called ARAKAN. It’s from Burma. We are all having fun. By Brittney.

I’m really excited that our new stu-dent Mario has settled in well. We have been continuing our Novel study of “The Fantastic Mr Fox” We are all very proud of Natasha as her Work Experience has been extended, she has been doing a great job. Well Done!! And a big Hi to Mrs Wood in joining The Comets this term. Miss Gilbert

How cool is this?? Britney and I went to The Australian Museum for an excursion. We had fun. Mario.

Miss M: The last three weeks students have been making great progress in their literacy and numeracy work. I would like to welcome Michaela and Claire into class 7 as well as Miss Barhoum who has helped transition these students into my classroom. Recently students have been learning about morals through Disney movies and stu-dents have show some great understandings in selecting morals to be studied in class. Along with this program students have been doing artwork which reflects the movie being watched. Class 7 this week watched Mulan and discussed the moral ‘being yourself’’ and what that means to them. Well done team Panthers! Keep up the great work!

Charbel: In the afternoons we have been learning about different morals in Disney movies. I have been watching Maleficent and Mulan. I have learnt about not judging other people without knowing their full story and I have learnt to just be myself. It has been so much fun doing the art ac-tivities.

Richard: My favourite subject is mathematics and I have really enjoyed learning about money. At the moment I am learning about subtraction and how to work out the amount of change I should get back if I purchased different items. I have also enjoyed real kids!

Curtis: It has been so much fun these last couple of weeks because I got to go fishing for the first time in my life and I have been doing a power-point in class to persuade Mr Greg to let us build a zen garden for out classroom. In class we have also been making our own dragons, like the one from Mulan.

Claire: I have enjoyed being in Miss M’s class. We have been doing reading groups and rotating around the room. I get to read with Miss M, do writ-ing activities on my book with Ms Barhoum, spell my words using magnetic letters, read fun books on epic, get to do handwriting and find-a-words.

Michaela: I have really enjoyed being in class 7 with Miss M. We have been looking at money in class for maths and it has been so much fun. We are looking at how much change we should get back when purchasing goods.

Kraig: I have enjoyed real kids these last couple of weeks. I have also enjoyed reading with Miss M and learning about money. It has also been fun watching Disney movies and learning about differ-ent morals. I have also really enjoyed photog-raphy.

Naqi: I have had so much fun when Miss M lets me do reading eggs. Also this week Mr Greg helped me build a pretend helicopter. It cant fly but it looks really cool and I cant wait until it is finished.

Safe Respectful Learners

BY DANIEL KETHEL

Last week at Rowland Hassall we celebrated Book Week. Students dressed up for the occasion and the winner of the best dressed was Dakota! We welcomed our newest student Samir to our school. Warri-ors have been working at Greenacre Public School and Real Kids have been taking part in Bondi to Bronte walk as well as Bicentennial park. Our level one reward for this week is seeing ‘A Dog’s Journey’. There are only few more weeks until Gold Coast. Earn all your points, be respectful and good luck!
