Late last term our Kindergarten students enjoyed a fun Dinosaur Party to mark the end of their unit
of study on dinosaurs. The children all had a great time and they were lucky enough to enjoy a visit
from a Cusackasaurus who read them a story and helped serve the children the party food. Mrs Cec-
chele, Mrs Tome & Miss Mizzi did a great job organising the party. Mr Tome made the delicious
pasta sauce for the special dinosaur pasta and Mrs Cecchele made the fabulous dinosaur cakes.
We hope you had a great break and you are all ready for the last term of 2014.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the start of a very busy term for the school, there are a number of matters that you need to be aware of.
Selective Schools Test – If your child is in Year 5 and you wish for them to sit the selective schools test (enrolment
at Smiths Hill) the application process has opened. The closing date for the applications is the 17th November.
Learn to Swim – The program will operate this Term with places first being offered to Year 2 and then filled
from the grades above. The cost for this activity is $40 to cover transportation. Learn to Swim will run from Mon-
day 10th November to Friday 21st November.
PSSA (Primary Schools Sports Association) Sports Program
The program will operate for our students in the Primary Grades this Term. This is our sport program and we see
this as an important part of the students’ schooling. It is not viewed as an optional exercise as it requires all of the
staff to be involved to make it happen for the students. The students will be involved in skill training and game play
before the actual games commence. This will run for the first two weeks and then as part of the regular sessions.
PSSA Sport will run from Week 3 of the Term (next week) through to Week 6 with a Gala Day in Week 7. Auskick
for Stage 3 at Figtree Oval and Drag n Tag at Syd Parrish Oval are the sports on offer this term. There is no cost to
the parents for this activity.
Congratulations are in order for two of our senior students – Ben Plumb
and Tate Harland. At the recent South Coast School Sports Association
Athletics Championship. Ben Plumb was the 12/13 Years Boys Age
Champion. Ben will receive his medal at the next assembly which will be
held on Thursday 23rd October. At the same assembly Ben will receive
his trophy for being Senior Boys Age Champion at the Central Wollon-
gong PSSA Carnival and Tate Harland will receive his for being the 11
Years Boys Age Champion. Best wishes to the students from this school
who form part of the regional squad that is competing at the State Carni-
val this week.

REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS REGARD-
ING ENTERING SCHOOL GROUNDS IN VEHICLES. Please remember that there is NO VEHICULAR ACCESS onto school grounds. Bringing your child into the school in a vehicle
is a very dangerous practise, it may save your child having to walk 50metres but it also may result in you hitting a child with
your vehicle. This rule is in place to ensure the safety of all our students and applies at all times of the day including the morn-
ings before school has begun. Please remind your children that they are not to enter via the staff car park, nor are they to short
cut across the parking area at the front of the hall. The pedestrian accesses located on both sides of the front of the school are
the only ways that children should be entering the school from Thames Street.
SCHOOL STARTS AT 8.20am
The school day starts at 8.20am. No child should be at school prior to this time as supervision cannot be guaranteed. If your
child should arrive before this time they must wait quietly, sitting on the benches on the Infants Verandah until the bell goes
and a teacher is on duty to supervise them. No child is to be playing any sort of game before the teacher arrives because if there
is an accident there is nobody there to tend to them. If for some reason you need to bring your child to school before 8.20am,
you may only do so by prior arrangement with a teacher who is prepared to be at school early and to supervise them until the
This terrific recount of the story of “The Three Little Pigs” was written by
Romina Escamilla in KC.
What an outstanding effort Romina, and great hand writing too!
Year Six will be holding a
cake stall on WEDNESDAY
15th November.
