Verse: In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
Principal’s Notes:
Lent, Holy Week, and Easter Worship Schedule
• We are now in the season of Lent. Lent is a somber time in the church year, a time of
penance and remembrance. It is also a time in which we have other worship
opportunities. These midweek worship services are a great way for us to take a few
moments during this crazy time of year, and to be able to shift our focus towards
Calvary, where we see the Son of God, the Savior of the world sacrificed for you and
me. Our weekend services during Lent will be focused on the Red-Letter Challenge
while our midweek services will be a little more intentional by going through the
traditional Lent Scripture texts.
The non-weekend service schedule is as follows:

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Red Letter Challenge Small Groups
Small Group Update for the Red Letter Challenge As you have hopefully heard by now, Atonement is about to embark on a journey through the Red Letter Challenge (RLC). The RLC is a forty day journey through the red lettered parts of the Bible a.k.a. the words of Jesus. This journey will take us through the themes of Being, Forgiving, Serving, Giving, and Going. This is a great opportunity for us to grow together and strengthen our faith in Jesus along with our relationships with others. Part of the RLC is the book, and the other part is joining with others in small groups. There are going to be six opportunities to join together and to enrich our experience and journey through the RLC.
The six opportunities are: -Sunday Mornings: During the Bible Study hour (9:15-10:15am) in Doug Molin's religion classroom -Monday Morning: 10:30 am (In Doug Molin's religion classroom) -Monday Evening: 7 pm at the Schutt home (2913 Jessica St. Metairie) -Tuesday Evening: 7 pm at the Molin home (3316 Tartan Dr. Metairie) -Wednesday Morning: 10:30 am (Church Library) -Thursday Morning: 7:15 am (Doug Molin's religion classroom)
Here we are beginning our journey through the Red Letter Challenge (RLC) together. The first full week of the RLC is all about BEING! Being with God, being in His Word, being in His presence. One great way to BE with God is through prayer. Prayer is a great gift from God where He gives us the opportunity to come converse with Him. Through prayer, we have the ability to talk to God, to unload all of our care and concerns onto Him, to bring all of our fears and struggles, and to ask Him what He is calling us to do. Prayer helps to strengthen our relationship with God! As we will continue together on this journey through the RLC we will see that there are plenty of things that God is calling us to do, plenty of actions we can take to grow in our faith and to share God with others. However, before we can truly attempt any of the doings, we have to spend time in the being, spend time with God, hear and see where He is leading us. We get do this in our personal faith walks with God, and also in our communal walk as a church, a body of Christ.
If you have any questions, or if you would like some more information, please do not hesitate to contact me! In His Service, Pastor Tim This is an important challenge, and important journey for us all to be on together. In our faith lives we are not alone so we join together, not only with our fellow church members as well as with churches all over the country!! I'm excited to be a part of the RLC with you!! Click HERE for a video of what the RLC is all about!!
