GAME SUMMARY

Game Two of the PHHL Championship finals was a nail-biter.

First period:

The Highlanders struck early at 8:12 of the first period with Harry Lukacs-Hitz netting

one assisted by Hunter Essiambre and Hunter Lukacs-Hitz.

Late in the second, at 2:33, the Highlanders struck again with Harry Lukacs-Hitz

burying another, top shelf, past the Doggies, Konnor Beck, making it 2-0 on a feed

from Rayden Besharah.

Second period:

It was late into the second before the Doggies put one up on the board with Willis

Egan blasting one past the Highlanders, Dylan Wormkee, at 2:53 making it 2-1.

Drawing the assists were Hunter Beauregard and Patrick Barry.

Forty-six seconds later, at 2:07, Hunter Lukacs-Hitz made it 3-1 when he took

advantage of a bad line change by the Doggies. Getting the helpers were Harry

Lukacs-Hitz and Raymond Durocher.

With 34 seconds to go in the second, after a relentless fore-check by the Doggies

causing a defensive breakdown by the Highlanders, the Doggies’, Brian Tubman,

snipped one narrowing the score to 3-2. Assisting were Egan and Beauregard.

Third period:

Third period saw good end-to-end action with plenty of scoring chances for both

teams, but the goalies shut down their opposition. The Doggies pressed hard to tie

the game in the dying moments but ran out of steam with only 7 players dressed

for the game as a result of sickness and injury. The Highlanders took 2 penalties

during the game while the Doggies ran a clean slate. Again, the shots on goal

were fairly even throughout the game. With the Highlanders holding a one-point

stranglehold on the series, can the Doggies nip their way back and win by 2 goals

to take the series? Thursday’s Game 3 final will be a barnburner! Don’t miss the

action! Thursday, February 28, 1:30.
