Hompage- The 1975

I found The 1975’s website simple yet representative of the band as the band is very simple and are known for their monochrome style linking with the iconography of the band. I liked the fact that they had their social networking sites set out clearly and also had a mailing list, I felt that this helped to create an established connection with the audience as by having the social networking sites and mailing list the audience can find out information about the band quickly and easily.

Hompage-Arctic Monkeys

Arctic Monkey’s website seem very corpate and impersonal, for me the website was too plain and lacked creativity, it linked well with their digipak but in my opinon has lost a personal connection with fans.

Hompage- alt-J

Alt-J are known for their artistic style in how they represent themselves and their work this is shown throughout all their products and continues to their website by the raw abstract brush marks that are also used by artists such as famous artist Jackson Pollock. The website overall is simple but I feel but having these raw brush marks it makes more personal to the band and recognizable to audiences. Whereas the other websites of modern day indie bands seem very corporate and impersonal. I liked this artists influence as it made the website stand out, I also liked the element of the iTunes playlist at the bottom of the website, I felt this was helpful as an overview into their other songs, helping the audience to expand into discovering the band’s other singles.

The Babyshambles- Hompage

Babyshambles website was very creative and has inspired me. From the audience research this website also received a good feedback as it was interactive and the audience liked this fact, I would like to incorporate this into my website design. I also liked the old style to it as it was very different and stood out to me, making the website memorable to me.

The Stone Roses-Hompage

The Stone Roses are an iconic band to the genre s I felt research into their website would help to inspire my own ideas. The overall style and layout was simple yet effective in creating style and a connection with the audience through twitter live feed and Facebook feed. They were also able to create brand identity through their products as the main logo on the page is a lemon shown in an Andy Warhol screen-print style, this was featured in their self titled album cover which was created by John Squire a member of the band by employing this to their website and even merchandise they have established their brand identity to the audience by the iconic lemon image.
