Step 4 Configure User Preferences Before creating WebShade ShadeAudit or Shade Modeller projects, the following optional User Preferences need to be established within the software. User Preferences

User Preferences are programs external to WebShade that you can execute by clicking the respective Icon (button) while within the WebShade software e.g. clicking the (M) Movie button or (CAD) button to run the Video and CAD software associated with those buttons.

To set up User Preferences click File> User Preferences.

The User Preferences screen will allow you to setup the default programs for execution when their respective buttons are clicked within WebShade. You will need to search through the programs to find the folder that contains the executable (i.e. the .exe program) you need to insert. The following User Preferences maybe set up:

a. Default Video Player – This is default video software used by the system when the Movie button is clicked. When the Movie button is clicked, the jpeg files generated by the Animated Shade procedure and stored in the folder ~/WebShade/My Projects/Animated Shade Projections (see below) are used in the compilation of the Movie WMV file. The Video player you select will use the Animated Shade Projections and build a movie file using them. You can insert your own jpeg’s into the Animated Shade projection folder such as headers and trailers or photos and other drawing you may want to show by simply numbering them in the desired sequence, then click the Movie button. You will need to delete the old Movie file for a new rebuild to occur.

b. Default CAD Software Package – This is the default CAD package used by the system when the CAD button is clicked. The WebShade software will automatically export the WebShade project in DXF format and store it in the project directory. The DXF file can then be imported into the default CAD software.

RELEASE NOTES 7.3.1 Release Notes WEBSHADE V7.3.1 (19th December 2008) These Release Notes contain the following information: - Systems Administrator Intervention - Network Considerations - Minimum Hardware Requirements - Supported Operating Systems - Installing WebShade - Software - Functions Not Supported - Contact WebShade Systems Administrator Intervention WebShade should be installed using normal User privileges. It maybe necessary under certain circumstances to install the software using Administrator privileges but this will cause issues when logged as User and attempting to execute the WebShade software. If during the installation of WebShade you experience issues that prevent you from installing the software or using certain features of the software, then you should firstly contact your IT Systems Administrator to assist in overcoming these issues. If the problems persist then contact WebShade (refer below). Network Considerations WebShade uses the standard Internet Protocol Port 80 to communicate with the WebShade back-end Microsoft SQL database in the following situations:

• Software registration (verification of Account ID and Password)

• File> New Shade Audit (verification of Account ID and Password)

Some organisations have disabled such requests passing through the organisations Proxy Server and therefore will deny you access to complete these requests. To overcome these issues it will be necessary for your Systems Administrator to bypass the Proxy Server while you complete these requests. If this is the situation, then several WebShade functions may require System Administrator level login permission to open Port 80. When Port 80 has been opened, log back in as User to complete tasks such as installing the software and activating New Shade Audits. Minimum Hardware Requirements The following minimum hardware requirements are recommended to operate WebShade:
