Creating a New VM in VirtualBox !
Step 1: Download VirtualBox from http://www.virtualbox.org
Step 2: Create a new virtual machine

Step 4: Set memory - 4GB of RAM recommended.
Step 5: Use an existing virtual hard drive file.
Step 6: Select Settings.

Step 7: Select Network
Step 7a: Choose the setup shown below if you are using a DHCP server like your home router. You must remember to change the MAC address as shown in the image below.
Step 7b: If you are not using an existing DHCP server follow the steps a-e below:
a. Cancel the Network Settings page.
b. Open the Preferences Pane for VirtualBox

c. Switch to the Host-only Networks tab and then add a new Network. Click OK.
d. The host-only network that you added in c creates a local network with an IP address range of 192.168.56.101 - 192.168.56.254. Your virtual machine will remain disconnected from the Internet, however, you will be able to access WebDMAP using this local IP address range.
e. Return to the Network preferences box of the virtual machine (see 6 - 7a above). Change the settings as shown below. Click OK. We will use this setup for the rest of the guide. If you followed step 7a, simply use the appropriate IP address.

Step 8: Start the WebDMAP virtual machine and wait for the operating system to load. Note the IP address once the system has booted. You may minimize this window at this time.
Step 9: Access the system using a browser. The URL is the IP address noted above along with a trailing /webdmap. For example, we will use http://192.168.56.101/webdmap in this manual

Other NotesThe Visualization module requires a Google API key. Set under /etc/webdmap/config.php. If you do not have a Google API key, use OpenStreetMap as the background layer.
