Dear applicant,Thank you for your interest in the position of Training and Consultancy Director at the National Governance Association (NGA). Governance has risen up the political and school improvement agendas and this provides more opportunities for NGA to deliver our charitable objectives. NGA is the only national membership organisation for l governors, trustees and clerks in state schools in England, and we work to improve the effectiveness of governing boards in both maintained schools and academies. As such, it is the first port of call for many of the policy makers in the education sector who are looking for governance expertise or wish to understand the governor view. We have been at the forefront of developing new programmes, tools for improving governance and resources for new governance structures. We pride ourselves on our knowledge and quality of our products and services. Alongside our membership NGA offers training, e-learning and consultancy. We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to join our growing team at a senior level. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience of managing a training service as well as a thorough understanding of school governance. The post-holder will be responsible for overseeing NGA’s Training and Consultancy services. Excellent project management and communications skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines are essential, as is the ability to manage teams and attention to detail. As with most senior roles, there is a requirement to be able to work outside of normal office hours on occasions.NGA’s training and consultancy services are growing and entering an exciting new phase, as we negotiate new governance development programme contracts with the Department for Education. NGA’s Training and Consultancy team has a successful track record of delivering high quality and bespoke services. Earlier this year we launched Learning Link, our e-learning programme, which includes the first ever eight in depth induction modules. The post-holder will be based in Birmingham. As England’s second city, Birmingham has a lot to offer in terms of cultural experience with theatres, concerts, the new Library, sporting venues and excellent shopping facilities. Right in the heart of the city, the iconic Bullring is one of the largest shopping centres in the UK and Grand Central shopping centre is situated directly above New Street Station, and includes one of the largest John Lewis department stores in the country. With excellent transport links Birmingham has seen an increase in the number of professionals moving here, attracted by the affordable housing. The city is host to 4 Michelin star restaurants and the Balti Triangle.I hope that you find the information that you need to apply for the post in this pack; there is of course more information on the NGA website. NGA is a social enterprise, a charity with a board of trustees and a company limited by guarantee; further details of our team can be found in the about us section of the website; If you have any queries, please email us at [email protected] with Training and Consultancy Director’ in the subject line.Yours sincerely,
