Position: Marketing and Business Development Spring Intern Organization Description: PIDC is Philadelphia’s public-private economic development corporation. Position Overview: PIDC’s Marketing and Business Development team is responsible for business development, marketing and communications, and client relations. PIDC’s marketing and business development efforts are focused on the following targeted market sectors: commercial businesses, corporate and commercial development, industrial and manufacturing, and nonprofit organizations. The Marketing and Business Development team works closely with all areas of PIDC (real estate, financing and operations) to communicate our message and drive business. The Marketing and Business Development Spring Intern will assist with implementation of our brand strategy, event planning and execution for client events and technical assistance workshops, social media strategy and implementation, database management, content creation for the PIDC monthly newsletter, assisting client and intermediary outreach, and other support for initiatives across the department. Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist in the conversion of photographic, video, and PowerPoint assets for use in new website as well as assisting in creation of client success stories for the website.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Help with the creation of content for PIDC e-newsletter and social media outlets Work on targeted business development email campaigns Assist in the execution of PIDC annual client event and other outreach and

cultivation events Research, write and implement direct mail and email outreach campaigns to targeted

sectors Undertake industry and company research related to new business development Assist with developing, updating and maintaining distribution and contact lists which

support general PIDC marketing initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Undergraduate student with relevant work experience and/or coursework in marketing and communications

Experience with using various social media channels Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong oral and written communications skills Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and databases

preferred Interest in photography and graphic design preferred
