Mock Eulogy or Life Philosophy Piece Directions: For this assignment, you will choose to write a Mock Eulogy or a Life Philosophy piece. Minimum of 250 words. Your piece must also include an Epigraph! Mock Eulogy: Imagine you are about to embark on a new life journey. Many of the people you know and love will not see you for a very long time. They are throwing you a going-away party, during which someone will give a speech about you and your life. Your assignment is to write this speech. How to do it: -Choose a person (real or fictional) and write from his/her perspective. You will be writing about yourself in the 3 rd person. -Discuss your achievements, goals, hardships, personality, passions, past, future… -Although you should mention your own personal strengths and weaknesses, the overall feel of the piece should be a positive. -Don’t let the tone get too serious, try using some comic relief… tell a funny story. OR Life Philosophy: Think about a motto, rule, moral guidepost in which you live (or would like to live) your life by. How to do it: -Clearly state what your life philosophy is. -Discuss specific events and circumstances that relate to this way of life. -Consider ways in which you follow(ed) this way of life, as well as ways in which you would like to apply your philosophy (or times you wish you applied it).
