Mock Eulogy or Life Philosophy Piece

Directions: For this assignment, you will choose to write a Mock Eulogy or a Life Philosophy piece. Minimum of 250 words. Your piece must also include an Epigraph!

Mock Eulogy: Imagine you are about to embark on a new life journey. Many of the people you know and love will not see you for a very long time. They are throwing you a going-away party, during which someone will give a speech about you and your life. Your assignment is to write this speech.

How to do it: -Choose a person (real or fictional) and write from his/her perspective. You will be writing about yourself in the 3rd person.-Discuss your achievements, goals, hardships, personality, passions, past, future…-Although you should mention your own personal strengths and weaknesses, the overall feel of the piece should be a positive. -Don’t let the tone get too serious, try using some comic relief… tell a funny story.

OR

Life Philosophy: Think about a motto, rule, moral guidepost in which you live (or would like to live) your life by.

How to do it:-Clearly state what your life philosophy is.-Discuss specific events and circumstances that relate to this way of life. -Consider ways in which you follow(ed) this way of life, as well as ways in which you would like to apply your philosophy (or times you wish you applied it). -How would the world benefit from this kind of thinking? -What lessons have you learned in life? How did you learn them?

***For either piece use an Epigraph (find a quote that captures your theme)
