2. Make sure you add a description at the bottom of the graph that includes the source of the

information, when the data was collected, and the general trends/what it means.

3. Paste it into your grad paper after the paragraph where you refer to the data.

Toulmin Model:

1. Claim: What you’re trying to say in general.

2. Data: Evidence that you’re using to support your claim.

3. Warrant: Statement explaining the connection between your claim and data.

4. Backing: Additional information/reasoning used to support the warrant.

5. Counterclaim: What you’re opposition believes/is saying.

6. Rebuttal: Evidence that negates the opposition’s claims
