Hello alligator families! Welcome to the month of January, and Happy New Year! Can you believe 2019 is already here? I wanted to start this month´s newsletter by letting you know that this is actually my last week before I go on maternity leave. My last day is this Friday, and when I come back, I will actually be transferring to the Brentwood center so I will not be coming back to this center after baby Waylon is born! I just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been working with this group of children and your families!

Transferring is definitely bittersweet for me, and I will miss working with you all! But I promise I will be leaving you all in good hands. Miss Taylor will be

taking over for me, and Miss Ellen and Miss Adrienne will also continue to be in the classroom as well.

This month the Alligators will be focusing on Health and Safety. Highlighting My healthy body, Caring for ourselves, Eating well, and Keeping safe. Our letters of the month are Oo, Xx, Ii, and Zz. Our numbers of the month are 16, 17, 18, and 19. Our color is Yellow, and our shape is Oval. Finally, our character education of the month is Patience.

This month will be a little quieter than the last few months, but I wanted to remind you that we are closed Tuesday January 1st in observance of New Years. We are open normal business hours New Year’s Eve, and we will resume normal business hours Wednesday January 2nd. We also will have a movie night Friday January 4th!

For the month of January, we get to celebrate Gloria’s birthday! Happy birthday Gloria! Out star student of the month is Xavier! Keep up the great work!

As I said it has been a pleasure working with all of you! Just like with me if you have any questions or concerns you can always reach out to Miss Taylor and she will take care of you! Have a great month everyone!

Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2019! To start the new year off, we are in the unit: WINTER WONDERLAND. children will learn the wonderful wonders of the Winter Season for many parts of the world.

They will explore concepts of Winter such as: bears & hibernation, science experiments, keeping oneself healthy, creative arts and so much more. Our center value aka character education is Patience. Our letters are D & C. Color Scheme: black & blue. Number: 10. Shapes: Star and triangle.

Donations we are looking for this month are AA & AAA batteries to get all of our toys working again. It's so important that you check your child’s cubby! We have reminders posted as well as things such as accident clothes or soiled bedding that needs to go home. Also, please remember bedding goes home at the end of the week but must return at the beginning. It is a state licensing requirement that everyone have a covered cot. Small pillows are optional. We are OUT extra bedding.  Last but not least, this month’s Star Student is Justus. Good job Justus! Keep up the hard work!

Happy New Year Ladybug families! We are looking forward to another fun and exciting year here at Kiddie Academy. For the month of January, we will work on the letter’s ‘O’, ‘X’, ‘I’, ‘Z’ and the numbers ‘16-20’. Our shape will be oval, and the color is yellow. Our theme will continue to focus on Health and Safety. We will talk about ‘My Healthy Body’, ‘Eating Well’, ‘Keeping Safe’, and ‘Caring for Ourselves’. The Character Education theme this month will focus on Patience. Patience is the ability to have self-control, while waiting for an event to occur. It also refers to the ability to remain calm while being frustrated in a situation.

We would like to say congratulations to Maclovia, Ved, and Zayden for making ‘Star Student’. You have all shown so much growth and improvement this year! We are beyond proud of you all!

We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all the parents who helped make 2018 a fun and exciting year! We look forward to the new memories we will make in 2019! We will be closed on the 1st of January for observance of New Year’s Day.

Please remember, the weather is getting colder, so your children will need weather appropriate clothing and jackets. Make sure all coats, hats, gloves, and bedding have your child's names on them.

Thank you, Ms. Lea and Ms. Charlene.

Happy New Year Monkey Families! I hope that 2019 will bring you a lot of joy and happiness!

Starting off this month, Kiddie Academy will be closed Tuesday, January 1st, in observance of New Year's Day, and will re-open on Wednesday, January 2nd. I can't believe we are already in a new year, can you?

This month´s character education will be about ¨patience¨. Patience is the ability to demonstrate self-control

while waiting for an event to occur. It also refers to the ability to remain calm in the face of frustration. It is a skill that develops in children as they mature.

AS always, we will make sure our monkeys are doing their homework and reading logs once the holiday break is over and we return to our regular schedule! If you have any questions with scheduling or homework, please feel free to talk with me!

Ms. Haley

Please continue to have your child practice holding a pencil, writing, and reading. We greatly appreciate it! Building writing and reading skills are essential in order to set your

child up for success! Thanks again to all of you who are supplementing with doing your homework.

Our Character Education for the month of January is Patience. Patience is the ability to exhibit self-control while waiting for something to occur. It also means to remain calm in the eye of frustration. It is not always easy to be patient; even for adults. We will focus on keeping your cool. This month’s star students are Aldon and Mackenzie who are both great examples of patience. Also, we have no birthdays to celebrate.

This month has a movie night on January 4th please let Ms. Mel or Ms. Kelly know. We will be focusing mostly on writing. Also, Miss Natalie will be here in our class helping with all our activities!Thank you, Ms. Mary and Ms. Natalie

Hello Dolphin families, and welcome to the New Year! We hope that everyone had a safe and jolly Christmas as well as a happy New Year!

The new year brings along some of these Dolphin Birthdays: Sophia on the 13th! Happy Birthday January Dolphins!

This month´s themes are: Out in Space, How is it Made?, How does it Work?, Hot and Cold, NIght and Day, the color blue, rectangle, the Letters Ff, Oo, Xx, Ii, and Zz, and the numbers: 71-75, 76-80, 81-85, 86-90, and 91-95.

This month, our class will focus on Patience for our Character Education. Patience is the ability to wait for an event or situation to occur while practicing self-control. Our classroom will be able to practice patience through interacting with their peers as well as their teachers. Patience is a wonderful skill to have and can make our

students more sympathetic to others. Time is passing very quickly, and we have so much to do. Please remember to help your

child practice writing and spelling their name at home and help with homework until each page is completed. Practice the reading book pages and test pages at random to ensure that your child truly understands the words.

Thank you for all your help with our parties, penny drive, food drive, and new toy gift drive. By having kind hearted families like your families, many other people were helped and definitely were able to have a happier holiday season!

Sincerely, Ms. Linda and Ms. Olivia

We would like to welcome back all our families. We hope everyone had a fabulous holiday and all the children enjoyed their winter break from

school!!It is hard to believe 2013 is already here, December was packed full of great times. All the children enjoyed the movie day where they got to watch the Polar Express. They loved the idea of being in their comfy pajamas and having a party as well. This was a great way to start off their winter break. A truly heartfelt thank you goes to the families who donated those great toys in our Toys for Tots Drive. The toys were given to the Marine Corps office located in Fairfield, who will distribute them to the families in need. Thank you again for your generous donation!!

Monthly Center Value:Patience: Due to the way our society is based on being in a hurry, many of us have the

tendency to want everything immediately. We must show our children how to exhibit patience when we are able to handle delays in route to a good or special occasion and to endure self-

control while waiting. Teachers will demonstrate many different ways to help children understand patience by using words and displaying the behavior that promotes this value. 1. Make a family scrapbook. Have your child choose their own pictures and talk about what

happened that time and how they have changed. By them taking turns telling the story they are learning to wait, listen and be patient.

2. Play family bingo or create a word search, these activities will encourage your child to show patience and self-control.

3. Write A Letter. Universal letter writing week is January 8th- 14th. Have your child write to a loved one.

Please remember that events will be going on throughout the month, make sure you check the events calendar. Our door is always open if you need to chat, have concerns, or ideas you would like to share.Thank you again for everything,Mel, Kelly, Nickie
