This means that if a student comes to a word in a sentence that they do not know, they will use the words around it and their prior knowledge to infer (guess) what the word means. We will be using made up words in paragraphs this week to practice this skill.

Upcoming Events

We will be taking two Field Trips during April this year! I wanted to give you all a heads up about when they are because they are back to back. For years all of the 2nd grade classes go to the Fowler Park to participate in Arbor Day activities that will be on Friday, April 24th. Then we will be going to the Columbian Park Zoo in Lafayette on Monday, April 27th. I know that the placement of these two field trips kind of stink that they are back to back and that the Zoo is on a Monday, but this is all that the Zoo had left for us to pick from! The only reason I do not like this is that I will not be able to remind students about bringing a sack lunch for Monday, but I will send out reminders and put it in our newsletter weekly! SACK LUNCH FRIDAY APRIL 24 TH AND MONDAY APRIL 27 TH !!!
