Part 1: Job Profile

a) Main purpose of jobThis role will be responsible for providing a supportive function within the Major Gifts Team to assist in maximising identified fundraising opportunities associated with all SSC’s Major Donor income streams and High Profile Cultivation Events Programme.

This role will also support the Director of Fundraising Development (DoFRD) with administrative support as required.

Part 2: Main duties and key responsibilities

a) Support the Major Gifts Team with all aspects of Team programmes including high profile events, the major donor cultivation and engagement plan and Trust programme - 70%

Support the Major Gifts team in the fulfilment of the team’s strategic objectives

Provide effective and efficient support, both administrative and representative (as required) to all major gifts fundraising activities, including supporting the Head of Major Gifts and Directors of Fundraising

Working closely with the Major Gifts Team on pre, onsite and post-event management to ensure the successful implementation of the annual programme of Major Donor cultivation events, including some weekends and evenings

Actively participate in competitor analysis of events and major donor activities to aid the major gift planning programme

Assisting with the co-ordination of gifts in kind and prize acquisition for high-profile events and the major donor cultivation programme including undertaking research into and identifying future prize donor prospects

Providing effective and efficient support to all cross-strand fundraising and profile opportunities, as identified by the Major Gifts team

Representing the organisation appropriately to the wider community Support the Major Gifts team with the marketing, recruitment and

promotion of events through multiple channels by working closely with the Marketing and Communications team and with the Major Gifts Fundraising Manager

Building relationships with event suppliers pre, onsite and post-event, including: venues, caterers, production and entertainment

The fulfilment of pre and post event logistics, including preparation of materials, equipment and transport needs

Liaising with colleagues across fundraising, care and marketing and communications

b) Use of SSC database of major donor and event activity 20%

Assist with maintaining and developing an accurate database of major donor and event activities, including the logging of auction prizes and gifts in kind, to enable the effective reporting, monitoring and analysis of team projects, activity and achievements

Work closely with the Major Gifts Team to ensure comprehensive data capture pre and post event to facilitate the development of the Major Donor development and upgrade programme

Supporting the Major Gifts Team in the implementation and development of all aspects, administrative and representative, of the Major Donor Development and Upgrade programmes

Supporting the Major Gifts Team in identifying, researching and profiling key donor prospects

Keep up to date with charity-wide best practice/policies

c) Provide excellent supporter care to donors 10% Liaising with event attendees and table hosts pre, onsite and post-event,

to ensure a positive event experience which may include acting as first point of contact for pre-event queries and ensuring all donors are thanked following an event

d) Other duties The post holder will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service

check The post holder must be able and willing to get to/work in our office at

Addlestone and at both hospices in Hampton and Guildford as required The post holder will need to travel throughout the catchment area of SSC This post holder should be prepared to work / attend meetings and events

which may be during evenings and weekends

e) Mandatory Criteria

a) Qualifications 5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent, including Mathematics and English (Essential) Fundraising Qualification (Desirable)

b) Experience Demonstrable work experience within an administration role (Essential) Work experience within a fundraising or comparable role (Desirable) A proven ability to work independently, as well as a successful contributor

towards team targets (Essential) Experience of keeping accurate data records and use of databases

(Desirable)

c) Knowledge and Skills Proactive, enthusiastic and solution-focused work approach Proven experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritising a
