Landmarks

Research one particular landmark that is in Greece now. It may be a man-made feature that was built in the past or recently or it may be a physical feature such as a mountain or a stretch of coastline.

Ancient Greece:

Use the date cards to create a timeline on a piece of paper. Remember our Stone Age timeline where BC is before the birth of Jesus and AD is after. We count down numbers on the BC side and count up on the AD side, after zero.

baking! Send me your pictures to add to the class blog.

Sadly, without tasting them I cannot judge a winner. But imagine that I will and try your best to make them top quality!

Create a visitor information leaflet about your chosen feature.

Art PSHE&C In the World…Columns

The Greeks were famous for their buildings and architecture. Please research Greek columns and sketch some of the patterns they used. Can you come up with any of your own?

This week we are thinking about taking responsibility. Think about the questions. You could talk to someone in your family about them.

What things are you responsible for at home? Setting the table, looking after a pet? Why is it important to take responsibility for something? What would happen if you have responsibility for something, like looking after a dog and you don’t do it?

Could you write a postcard to a relative to tell them about responsibility and why it is important plese. Don’t forget to send in pictures of your work.

Gratitude

It can hugely help our wellbeing to think about what we are good at and what we are thankful for. Make a list of 5 things that you are thankful for.Make a plan with your adult about something good you could do for someone else. This could be an act of kindness at a safe social distance or a plan for the future when we are allowed to be close to one another again. Mrs Askwith is going to give up some of her time on a Saturday to help others by volunteering to entertain the elderly and teach them craft skills.

This week we are having another look at our numbers to 10. How did you get on?Use the video to remind yourself. Can you join in? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsc3qLMaCu8

Week 3 What happens at the Sacrament of Reconciliation?Put these in the correct order:

The priest says the words of forgiveness and absolution.

The priest talks kindly to them and encourages them to do or say something to make up for what they have done wrong. This is called a penance.

The priest welcomes the penitent, and they both make the Sign of the Cross.

The person leaves the priest and prays and thanks God for forgiving them and completes the penance the priest has asked them to do.

The penitent confesses (tells the priest his/her sins).

The person then prays an act of sorrow, which includes the promise to try not to do the same again.

The penitent (person confessing his/her sins), takes time to examine their conscience (life). This means to think about the times they have not followed Jesus’ way of love and kindness.
