HOMEWORKTic-Tac-Toe MenuChoose 3 activities that you are interested in exploring. Be sure to include all of your assignments for credit. This will be shared and graded in class during the week of January 19. READ all of the requirements for each activity.

1. Poetry. Create a poem (with at least 3 stanzas) depicting the events of

the Boston Massacre OR the Boston Tea Party.

Draw or paint a picture to capture the mood of your

poem.

2. Research. Research one of the important people discussed in Chapter 8. Prepare a presentation

about this person (poster, PowerPoint, write a report,

etc.)

3. Survey. Create a list of five activities one might do

on Independence Day. Survey at least 20 people what they enjoy most to celebrate. Make a graph to represent your data. Write a brief summary to

explain your data.

4. Draw a cartoon representing the major events that led up

to the Revolutionary War. Don’t forget to add captions

to each panel.

5. Write a persuasive letter to King George III explaining why you, the colonists,

should have representation before he begins taxing the colonists. Try to convince him that he is treating you

unfairly.

6. Timeline. Construct a timeline of important events including dates and major

details of the events leading up to the start of

the Revolutionary War (Chapter 8)

7. STAMPS. Make 4 stamps that depict major events

leading up to the Revolutionary War. Explain, in detail, what each event is and the impact it had on

the colonists. Use template provided or

create your own.

8. Boycott Poster. Make a poster that persuades

others to boycott English goods. Be sure to give

reasons why others should follow you in protest. There should be pictures included!!

9. The Effects of the Acts. Draw pictorial

representations of the Acts that the British

passed. On each picture include the name of the Act, the date it passed and the effect it had on

the colonists.

Please list the numbers of the activities that you chose to work on. Remember that I am looking for QUALITY, 5th grade work. Be sure that you turn in work that you are PROUD to share with the class.
