Below is a table of work for your child for the next few weeks. You can do this at set times to help with a routine or you can pick and choose and make up your own daily routine.

We are here to help you if you need any support, just call school on 01924 264240 during school hours 8am-4pm. Or contact us via the school website 😊 and Dojo.

Please send us your photos of any home learning so we can add them to their portfolio. This is only accessible by staff in school and they will not be shared online without your permission.

Cognition 1.Create an avatar on Purple Mash (this is already set for all pupils on Purple Mash)

2. Take a picture and share it to the Highfield Summer Noticeboard (this is already set for all pupils on Purple Mash)

3. Purple Mash – Games – Maths City 1 & 2. Have a look inside, watch the videos and play a few Maths games.

4. https:// www.topmarks.co.uk/ordering-and-sequencing/caterpillar-ordering - Try some number ordering and sequencing.

1.Make some toast for your breakfast remembering to spread your butter/jam neatly. Put everything away afterwards and wash up all your utensils.

2.Are you able plant some seeds? What do they need to stay alive? Sign up for free growing kit: https://innocentbiggrow.com/#homeGrowingKits

3. Cut the tops off your carrots and pop them in a bowl with some shallow water. After about 1 week the tops will start to sprout. Once they are about 2inch tall you can plan them out and wait for your new carrots to grow!

4. Keep your crumbs in a little tub so you can feed the birds each day. Remember they like breadcrumbs, cheese, bacon fat, crackers and all sorts of bits you might be throwing out. Count how many birds come to visit, keep a tally. Can you count to 10?

5. Shape Hunt! Choose 1 shape each day. (see chart at the bottom of this document). How many shapes you can find that are the same? Say its name each time you see the shape and count them. Write the number down, or even take a photo! I found a circle:

Health 1. Try Joe Wicks PE session. 9am every day or watch

What type of daily exercise are you taking? To keep you fit and healthy try and go outside

back later. 2. Can you try and new physical

activity? Forward roll? Touch your toes 10 times.

3. Can you eat 5 different colours of fruit and veg a day. Keep a colour chart! (see bottom of this document)

4. Watch our warm-up song and have a dance each morning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYCPhb56pWY

at least once a day - maybe for a walk or if you have a garden to play football or another game to get moving. You can combine this with communication or with cognition. Say the door numbers as you walk around your local streets, are they odd or even? Can you remember the colour of the doors?Practise catching a ball. Throw it up in the air and catch it again. Now see if you can clap while it is in the air. Keep practising and see how many times you can clap before you catch it again.

Personal development

Music – Choose an instrument and see which you like best. https://www.virtualmusicalinstruments.com/

Art – Combine literacy with famous art by visiting this site: https://www.starfall.com/h/ftr-art/?t=255608071

Drawing – Free on-line white board to be creative anyway you like: https://www.webwhiteboard.com/

Community - Do you have a rainbow in your window? Have you been clapping for the NHS heroes? Complete the time capsule activities.

Music - Pots and pans drum kit? What can you find that makes a high pitch or low note? Compare a wooden spoon with a metal spoon beater, how does the sound differ.

Art – Collage a rainbow from old magazines and newspapers.

Creative Activity: Colour then make a paper aeroplane. Make 2 or 3 and see which one flies the farthest. Measure the distance using your hands or strides.

Independence Personal care and hygiene: It’s important to stay clean to stay healthy. It’s really tempting to stay in your pyjamas and not shower as you aren’t going out. Make sure you wash every day and clean your teeth and shower and bath when you are asked to by your grown-up. Grown-ups at home can contact us at school to see if we can arrange some incentives for young people who are really struggling with this. It is still vital to wash your hands regularly. Remember to count to 20 as you wash or sing your favourite song.

Cooking: How much do you help with the cooking? Make your breakfast each day. Cook the toast like we do at school or pour yourself some cereal and a glass of juice. This could count towards your daily fruit and veg colour challenge. Chop a piece of fruit or veg as a tasty and healthy snack. How many pieces did you cut

it into? Can you say if it is in half or quarters?

Helping out at home: How much are you helping around your house? Can you try something to help around the house that you haven’t done before? Washing the car, washing up, clearing up after yourselves. Now every-one is in the house it can quite untidy so lend a hand. Can you hoover a room, dust or wash up, just like you do at school? Each week strip your bed and put some new covers on. Sort the dirty washing into colours before they go in the machine, peg them out on the line once washed then help fold them when dry: we’ve practised this at school!
