Village life is simple as compared to city life.The main occupation of the people in villages is farming.Dams are the artificial huge walls built across the river or any other water body.In many villages today, dams are built across rivers. For this people have to leave

their land and villages.

2 How is life in village different from that of cities?Ans: The people in village have a peaceful life they get time to listen to the chirping of birds and gurgle of flowing river and also they live together like a big family. Whereas the people in the city lead a very busy life, they don’t get to even see and meet each other. City life is very crowded and noisy.

3 Like dams what are the other projects which leads to the displacement of people?Ans- Construction of bridges, highways, big factories, railway track, roads etc. leads to the displacement of people.

4. What kind of difficulties people face when they move from their native place ?Ans The difficulties faced by the people when they move from native are:

Packing/unpacking the luggageFinding new house in the city/area where they are shifted.Difficulty faced in adjusting to the local environmentTransportation will be difficult because it is an unknown/new place.

5. Why people in village lead a peaceful life than in city.Ans: People in village lead a peaceful life because life is more expensive in city, but in village it is relatively cheap. The environment in the city is polluted, whereas environment in village is fresh and clean.

Write a short note on Khedi village.Ans:Khedi village was in middle of thick green jungle and hills.There were so many soothing sounds such as chirping of birds, gurgle of flowing river, and the murmur of the trees etc.People go to nearby forest to collect wild fruits, roots and dried wood.While working with elders, children also learn to play flute and dhol, to make pots of clay and bamboo etc.People of Khedi village lived a happy and peaceful life in the natural environment.
