Target date- Assessment on health and skill-related fitness will occur in the fall (September-October), the winter (January) and spring (March-April). Summative assessment in cardiovascular fitness (mile run) and muscle strength (push-ups) will occur in late May-June.

How will I know if I reached my goal? Use score ranges on each assessment as specific measures to gauge improvement.

Action steps- Action steps are what you would do to achieve your fitness goal. For a health-related fitness goal, use the FITT principle that applies. For a skill-related fitness goal, use the FITT principle for MUSCLE FITNESS. Intensity is typically at maximum when trying to develop speed, agility, balance, coordination, reaction time or power.Various plans are available in the classroom to help you achieve your goal.

Overcoming barriers to physical activity- Read the article “Overcoming Barriers to Physical Activity” by the Center of Disease Control (CDC). (https://www.cdc.gov/physicalactivity/basics/adding-pa/barriers.html)

Record at least 3 obstacles or barriers to physical activity that are true for you on the goal sheet. Also record how you plan to overcome or respond to each obstacle.
