OUR WORSHIP Singing – No matter how well you sing or what style you prefer, God deserves our praise. We offer both traditional and contemporary styles of worship so that everyone will encounter the Lord in a relevant, life-changing way. Offering Generous, consistent giving is an act of worship we gladly offer to honor our God. We want to be givers, not takers. Guests should not feel obligated to participate. Communion – A time in our worship to reflect upon God’s love for us. Communion is open to all baptized believers. Please take and eat the bread and juice as it is passed. Preaching – Our desire is to convey a relative faith for living today. An outline for the message is included in this bulletin. Invitation – At the close of our worship, time is made available for you to step to the front to accept Christ and be baptized, become a member of North Park, share prayer needs, or give a testimony. Simply follow instructions as they are given. OUR CHURCH The North Park Church of Christ is not affiliated with a denominational organization. Instead we are a part of a worldwide fellowship of Christians who desire to follow Christ through His Word, the Bible. It is our conviction that from the conception of the church in AD33, and throughout history, that there were people who sought to follow God’s Word only despite the many divisions that later developed within the church. It is with this group that we identify ourselves. Our claim is not to be the only Christians, but to be Christians only, for Christ and His Word are sufficient for all our needs. Consequently, the way we express our faith and follow His teachings is closely tied to the historical practices and beliefs of that early church shown to us in the Bible. Two of the best examples, that many may find different from their own church experience, would be our sharing in the Lord’s Supper (Communion) on a weekly basis and the baptizing of penitent believers in water by immersion for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). This historical perspective (a return to the first ways and beliefs) is very liberating and provides a solid foundation for the one seeking to make sense out of the religious confusion that exists today. OUR BELIEFS God is the creator of all that is. The Bible is God’s message for humanity. It is absolute truth and the only authority for our faith and conduct in this life. It reveals the way of eternal salvation and is a universal guide for everyday living. Jesus is God’s Son, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, raised from the dead, returned to God the Father, and will come again to this earth in judgment, saving His church and condemning the unbeliever. Our salvation is by faith in Jesus through God’s grace expressed in repentance and baptism. The Holy Spirit lives in the believer empowering him to live the Christ-like life. The church’s purpose is to relate the truths of God concerning salvation and living to the whole world. ________________________________________ ___ COMMUNION MEDITATION COMMUNION PREP TODAY : Eric Gillette MAY : Steve & Teresa P MAY 10 : Andrew Emrick KIDZ CHURCH (1-5 grades) 10:30AM MAY : Tina Emrick Watch the Facebook Elementary Page for: ZOOM weekly meetings/activities LIVE Kidz Church Sunday at 10:30am North Park Church of Christ 4938 Westerville Road Columbus, OH 43231 614.882.6623 Contact us at: 614.882.6623 [email protected] (Steve, Minister) [email protected] (Tina, Children’s Director) [email protected] (Jeanie, Office Manager) May 3, 2020 Don’t Forget to… Please register online soon. Acts 1:1-3In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all

that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the

apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many

convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days

and spoke about the kingdom of God.
