Grammar task: Suffixes –sion The suffix -sion is often used to change a verb into a noun.
For example: Explode becomes explosion.
Spelling rules
The -sion suffix is often added to words that end in de, se, d or s. You need to drop these letter(s) before you add -sion.
For example:
divide = division
revise = revision
expand = expansion
express = expression

Maths – Wednesday 3 rd June Multiplying by 10, 100 and 1,000 When we multiply by 10 the number moves one place holder and becomes 10 times bigger. When we multiply by 100 the number moves 2 place holders and becomes 100 times bigger.When we multiply by 1,000 the number moves 3 place holders and becomes 1,000 times bigger.
For example
4 x 10 = 20 4 x 100 = 400 4 x 1,000 = 4,000
Creative task – Wednesday Toilet Roll Characters Today you need a toilet roll, so you can make a toilet roll character. It could be an animal, a superhero, a character from your favourite film or book or it could even be a self-portrait!You can use felt pens, paint, coloured paper or even googly eyes if you have some to make your toilet roll into whoever or whatever you want.
