Higher education routes & opportunities in my chosen path.Higher education is essentially a way for a student to get a degree on a course that they have picked to study. On the other hand, higher education basically captures on what you have learnt throughout college and six forms, this gives students the opportunity for them to learn main things that goes on in the media industry which can lead you to further paths from which they can learn more into the business.

While going to university I’ve always been planning to carry on studying Media Production BSc (Hons) at De Montfort University of Leicester.

This course will benefit me a lot because it includes a deal of a high-level skill which would help me develop more of my skills and knowledge in media mainly television and film as well as learning different modules which will intend me to learn more about course and to gain much more confident throughout the years to come. Further Education routes and opportunities in my chosen path

With further education, you can continue studying media production at university will allow you to go on further into the course as an undergraduate. Courses in the media industry are widespread in the United Kingdom graduating can then lead you into finding many work placements and internships that would then require students to do work vacancies and projects.I would personally consider in doing an internship first because it will help develop the skills that you would like to achieve to progress further into the real working world as well as gaining work experience and to satisfy many requirements for a qualification.

Pros pursuing further education are that most jobs may require masters or PhD if you know what you’re going to be doing when you stop studying, investing on a better portfolio.

Cons further education can be very expensive just like higher education you still got to pay the fee.

This is a great internship program I found called BDO United Kingdom to gain a lot of experience from working. Volunteering will help with experience gaining the skills you need for the future which will help build up your CV.

Apprenticeships opportunities in my chosen paths

Apprenticeships are a very good way to starts preparing yourself for the future which would allow you to combine a mixture of practical work and study which can then lead to a formal qualification these can include the following functional skills, national vocational qualifications, technical certificates and academic qualifications.

Apprenticeships is the least I’d find interesting in doing in my opinion unless you want to learn and earn at the same time, but there are many apprenticeships that I’d find interested in learning such as digital marketing and journalism other than that I rather finish studying first at university then continuing pursuing a career in film or television.

Pros when pursuing apprenticeships can gain real life experience, learn while you earn, it can boost confidence.Cons pursuing apprenticeship can cause a lot of pressure, you may get paid less than others and it may limit options in the future.

This would be a great opportunity to develop my current skills.

Employment and self-employment opportunities in my chosen path

Being able to Have a clear set path will help aid your work way up to the top as well as learning and developing many skills which will help achieve your career goals for the future, being employed can build a lot of confidence as well as boosting your self esteem.

In next few years I’d like to see myself working with top companies to do with film and television production.

There are much more such as directing, video editor, producer etc. Finally, in conclusion I think that having a career plan can help you lead to success. So many people end up unhappy and unsure with their career plans and end up doing something opposite to their career.
