The portfolio meets the needs of the audience due to the content which has been placed within the portfolio. Each of the pieces of content have been chosen due to be being the best pieces of work which I have produced while at college. Each of the pieces are very clear in their purposes with each piece of work being of either Merit or Distinction criteria. The feedback which I received has been a representation of my target audience for the digital portfolio, as well as other students a long side me creating the same type of work.

In the feedback I received, my first reviewer stated that he liked the overall design of the portfolio but felt there were errors in the portfolio in how it was being presented. His main piece of advice was to change the Unit 6 – Creating Digital Graphics page, as it had a very large gap between the actual content and the header navigation bar. When I received this feedback I immediately looked at this page and began looking for ways to fix this.

From my second reviewer had very high praise for the portfolio stating how she liked the inclusion of multiple pieces of work of the creative nature. This included multiple comments regarding the inclusion of the Graphic images, Animation, Animation Storyboard and Visio designs. She felt that the table which contained the storyboard could have been closer together to look more like 1 very large image, instead of 12 separate images. She also stated how she thought that I should add more text explaining my Unit 4 – Creating Digital Animation work in more detail.

My final portfolio design I am highly pleased with due to the content I have included. With the multiple pieces of content I have included, it has come together to create a portfolio that I am very happy with and can present to a company when going for job interviews as proof of my skills. The portfolio has a very large but very efficient file structure, with assets such as images placed into a specific folder. The pages are all grouped together into one folder, which is within the folder structure, so that they are easy to locate. Each of the pages names are easily to see in the folder which contains the pages. Each of the intro pages names are the Unit and number, then the Content pages have Unit name and number then the word “content” in the file name. This makes the Unit pages distinctive and the content pages clear from the intro pages. In total there are 8 pages, 3 Unit pages each with independent intro pages, an about me page and an Index/Home page.

The page loads on the Index/home page, immediately seen is the first image of me and a general overview of the portfolio. On the navigation bar there are 5 tabs, 3 of them are for the units, 1 for the home and 1 finally for the Info page. Each of the tabs for the Units are linked to 2 pages, clicking the tab takes the viewer to the intro page, which clearly explains and outlines the Unit and what the learning outcome is for that unit. When hovering over the navigation buttons, a second tab appears and when clicked links the person to the actual content page, which include all the content of that specific unit.

From the original design drawings that I created in task 2 for this unit, I designed a greyscale drawing for this portfolio, I decided to change to a colour scheme instead to make sure that the target

audience would enjoy the portfolio and would possibly employ me. From my original designs, I had my unit 11 page laid out in a different format. In the unit 11 page I had my text in 2 different locations, each next to my Visio designs.

The three units chosen were 4, 6 and 11, each of which have graphical and other visual assets to include in the digital portfolio. The Unit 4 page includes the 12 storyboard images and my final distinction animation. My Unit 6 page has 3 graphics in total, my Advert which is a bitmap and my 2 Vector images which are part of a user guide. Unit 11 contains 2 Visio design images and a short explanation as to their meaning and creation.

When I had finished production of this page, I asked 2 different people on my course to evaluate and give me feedback on my portfolio. While the majority of feedback was positive, I did receive some critical comments when coming to the design and certain pages. Using this I made changes to certain pages and then asked for further feedback, questioning if the changes made were more effective or not. I was happy to find that with the changes, the 2 reviewers were pleased with the overall portfolio.

If I was to create another portfolio, re-design or make changes to this one in the future, there are many changes I would make. Changes would include adding more content for each of the units, including a further detailed description of the tasks carried out and the stages in which they were carried out at, the final assessor’s comments on the work and grade that it achieved at the end of each piece of work. Each of the Units would have the word documents produced a long side of them added to the page, so that the viewers could view the writing work a long side the digital creation work.

I would have liked to add more into the about me page, as this was one area where the reviewers took notice. They were happy with the amount of content inside this page but stated that it may only give a fraction of information into my professional life and skills. In the about me information page I failed to add online contact details, such as an embedded email address or social media links, which are highly popular. Social media links would have improved my portfolio as I do often share work which I am proud of to my social media, however it isn’t always considered appropriate if your social media is very open and public. If all your details are viewable to every single person, all the content which you have shared, interacted with and friends you associate with. This could begin to border on the unprofessional/personal level and that is not the idea I want to give for my portfolio.

Overall I am pleased with the portfolio and would be happy to use my skills learnt in this unit to create another portfolio or to update this one as time goes on and my skills, work and life develops.
