Web 2.0

Page 2: Web 2

Web 2.0 At the beginning internet was a new function that

allowed computers to communicate with each other by sending useful information between them.

At that time certain companies and professional technicians created the content of the young internet. At that time, computers where still very expensive and learning how to use them was difficult for the average person, much less venture into webpage designing.

In our current era we are exposed to many different webpages with information that may be useful to us, for example social media webpages like Facebook that allow us to contact friends and family, or blogs that talk about everyday problems and how to solve them.

Web 2.0… This information that we now constantly have

acces to most of the time was not placed on the web by a specialist, but an ordinary internet user.

With computer technology being cheaper everyday and also more user friendly now the average user can uplpad information into the web so others can use or enjoy.

This new type of internet is called the Web 2.0 and now companies have catchec up with the trend and are starting to use it to further increase their profits by managuing to reach a more numerouys audience and making their brand name known.

Web Collaboration Tools Wikipedia: I decided to make an account at Wikipedia.org

because it is a site most students make use of but very little contribute to. This is due to the fact that it is encouraged that people who collaborate in Wikipedia already have a higher education.

After creating my account I could observe the small number of tools Wikipedia offers to its members.

Since Wikipedia is made up entirely of articles which contain information about everything, someone had to write all that information down and arrange it in a coherent order. That is the job of the Wikipedia member, they add and edit the articles so people who look for certain information receive the most accurate result.

Wordpress Wordpress.com is a website created to

enable people to create their own blogs, so they can share with others. There is a blog for everything you just have to look for it.

I created my own blog and gave a brief description on how I created it for the Management Information Systems Cl. Since you begin creating your blog, you are given many useful tools to arrange and decorate your blog to your liking. You can select from a wide variety of themes, some of them are free while others require certain amount of money to use them. You can also look for other blogs and add friends to your list.

This site is really useful because by adding connections you get to know other people and find different companies and jobs available.
