WE ARE CELEBRATING 99 YEARS OF GOD WITH US! This month we give thanks and recognize that

Emanuel American Lutheran Church was founded on God’s Word on August 1st, 1920, and continues to stand on Biblical authority as we kick off our 99th year. With our 100th year anniversary approaching, Emanuel, as a Bible-based church, cannot rest on our history or heritage. As we are recognizing our 99th year in ministry we are also celebrating, and you are asked to save the date of September 8th for our KickOff Sunday celebration! Join us for our all church picnic and potluck starting at 12:30pm on September 8th.

As the Emanuel family strives to move forward, our focus must remain on God’s Word to transform daily life and each person that we invite into this faith family. We are each called by God’s transforming Word to: Welcome all people into our faith family, Equip all people with the life changing Word of God and Emanuel will Send out all people to fulfill the Great Commission Jesus gave us in Matthew 28:19-20. May this be in the forefront of our hearts and minds as we pray about who to invite to the September 8th KickOff Sunday worship celebration and community picnic!

This month our new sermon series will give focus to the “High Seas”! Okay, a little odd for a series in August but as we start to wrap up the Summer, schools are getting back into session and we are prepping for our KickOff Sunday in September I wanted us to go into a Biblical journey that connects to the “High Seas”!

August Sermon Series! Don’t Miss this!

The Executive Team met in July, reviewed our finances and

discussed the July Council meeting agenda and also the planned

August vision meeting. Within our constitution, 12.02 and 12.03,

“The Church Council shall normally meet once a month.” And, a

quorum must be present of the “...majority of members of the

Church Council.” We did not have a quorum for the meeting so

there is nothing special to report at this time.
