Directions to Morgan State University

From any direction via the Baltimore Beltway (I-695)

Get on I-695 and head toward the northeastern portion of the beltway. Go south at exit 30, Perring Parkway. The Perring Parkway exit is east of the exits for Towson and west of the I-95/I-695 interchange. Go south a few miles on Perring Parkway. It will change to Hillen Road when you see the engineering building on your left.

From south of Baltimore via I-95

Take I-95 north through the Ft. McHenry Tunnel. Get off I-95 at the Moravia Road Exit. (The distance to campus is about 3.5 miles.) You will go through major intersections at Belair Road and then at Harford Road. Moravia Road will become Cold Spring Lane at Harford Road. Cold Spring Lane goes through the middle of campus.

From north of Baltimore via I-95

Continue on I-95 south past the interchange for the beltway, I-695. Shortly thereafter, I-95 will split into I-895 (left two lanes) and I-95 (right two lanes). Go to the left onto I-895. Get off at the Moravia Road Exit. Bear to the right off the exit ramp onto Moravia Road. (The distance to campus is about 3.5 miles.) You will go through major intersections at Belair Road and then at Harford Road. Moravia Road will become Cold Spring Lane at Harford Road. Cold Spring Lane goes through the middle of campus.

From the south via I-97 from Annapolis Area and Eastern Shore

When approaching the beltway (I-695) take exit for Harbor Tunnel. After tunnel, get off at Pulaski Hwy. (Rt. 40 East)/ Erdman Avenue Exit. At end of exit ramp, go straight which will get you onto to Pulaski Hwy., Rt. 40 East. Exit right onto Moravia Road. Continue straight on Moravia. Do not take any of exits that you will see right after getting onto Moravia. (The distance to campus is about 3.5 miles.) You will go through major intersections at Belair Road and then at Harford Road. Moravia Road will become Cold Spring Lane at Harford Road. Cold Spring Lane goes through the middle of campus.

From Downtown Baltimore

Go north on Charles Street. Pass Johns Hopkins' main campus on your left. At 33rd Street, make a right. Go past Johns Hopkins East and make a left onto Hillen Road. Go north on Hillen until you reach the campus.

TRANSPORTATION Morgan State University is located approximately 30 minutes from Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). The Pennsylvania Train Station (AMTRAK) is located approximately 15 minutes from the University.

Traveling to hotel by vehicle from Morgan: 

• Take Cold Spring Lane going west towards Falls Rd 

• Turn Left on Falls Road go approximately 3 lights and you will come to the village of cross Keys to the hotel. 

Traveling back by vehicle to Morgan: 

• Reverse the steps go back 3 lights make a right to Cold Spring Lane 

• Drive all the way over to Morgan (Hillen Road and Cold Spring Lane). 

Traveling by the #27 Bus stop is outside of hotel 

• Traveling from hotel to Morgan the guest can catch the #27 bus heading towards Registertown Plaza Station located Wabash Ave and Eldarodo 

• Traveling Transfer to the #33 bus‐ Essex or Moravia will take to Hillen Road and Cold Spring Lane. 

Traveling back to the hotel from Morgan: 

• Catch the #33 Bus to Hillen Road behind Morgan off at Cold Spring to Falls Rd bus should read Rogers Station 

• Transfer to the # 27 Bus and it should let the guest off right outside of the hotel. 

• Daily fare $1.60 one way and $3.50 all day pass.

BWI Airport ground transportation includes light rail as shown above.

Summary of ground transportation for BWI Airport. Costs shown are approximate and for one-way trip:

Light Rail - There is a Light Rail station at the BWI Terminal. Cost to Baltimore: $1.60. Once in Baltimore. Take the Downtown University Light Rail Train to downtown Baltimore it should let you off at the First Marina Arena walk to the right on to Baltimore Street and catch the number #3 Bus on Charles Street. Take the #3 Bus to Loch Raven and Cold Spring Lane. Make a right on to Cold Spring and walk about 1-2 blocks towards Morgan State University which is located 1700 E. Cold Spring Lane Baltimore, MD 21251. You will see the Morgan State University sign on the corner of Hillen and Cold Spring Lane. To go back the way that you came just reverse the steps and catch the #3 on the opposite side of the street going Downtown.

Bus-Metro - There is bus service from BWI to Greenbelt Metro Station and from there to downtown Washington DC. Cost of this Bus-Metro trip is about $7. Thanks to the cheap and fast Light Rail system, there is no need to take a bus to Baltimore.

Train - There is a train station at BWI Airport. Shuttle service is available from the BWI Terminal to the station. Again, because of the low cost take Light Rail to Baltimore and not the train. Train service to Union Station in Washington DC is $6 from Monday to Friday using a Marc Train. Amtrak has daily service to Union station starting at $12.

Airport Shuttle - BWI is served by Supper Shuttle. Cost from BWI to Baltimore is about $21. Cost from BWI to Downtown Washington DC is about $35. Discounts for two or more passengers.

Taxi - Taxis are available at the BWI Terminal. Estimated cost to Baltimore is $32. Estimated cost for a taxi to Downtown Washington DC is $79.

Limousine - Several Limousine companies provide service to BWI. Estimated fares to Baltimore start at $50 and to downtown Washington DC fares start at $75.  

 

The Pennsylvania Train Station (AMTRAK) is located approximately 15 minutes from the University.

BWI Free Parking

If your MARC travel originates at BWI Rail Station and you participate in the Ticket By Mail program administered by CSX Transportation, you may benefit from Free Parking at the BWI Rail Station garage. For more info: please dial 1-888-226-5515 or click this link for the cyber form.

In addition to your monthly MARC ticket purchased through Ticket By Mail, you must have a key card issued from the Booth in Garage 1. This requires a $20.00 refundable deposit. Each month, Ticket By Mail validates your monthly MARC ticket with the garage operator, designating you to park your vehicle.

This special offer applies only to MARC tickets purchased through CSX's Ticket By Mail program in Jacksonville, Florida. Rail tickets purchased through either Amtrak or Commuter Direct are NOT eligible for Free Parking at the BWI garage.

Parking at the BWI Rail Station garage is $9 per day or $40 per month.

MARC Park & Ride

Most MTA MARC Park & Ride lots are free of charge for patron parking. However, please note that parking lots operated by WMATA are not under our jurisdiction.

MARC patrons will be charged varying parking fees at Baltimore Camden Station, Baltimore Penn Station, College Park, Greenbelt, Martinsburg, New Carrollton, Rockville, Silver Spring, and Washington Union Station as these lots are operated by other organizations.

Parking at MTA MARC Park & Ride lots is limited, and many lots fill before the rush hour is over. Lots at Odenton, Point of Rocks, and West Baltimore are among the most popular routes, which fill early in the morning.

RENTAL CAR FACILITY

BWI Airport has opened a spacious, rental car facility providing one-stop rental car shopping for our customers. The facility is located at Stoney Run Road and New Ridge Road. Free shuttle service carries customers to and from the Airport. Passengers arriving on flights should take the free shuttle from the lower level terminal for a ten-minute ride to the new facility. When returning a vehicle, look for highway directional signs to the facility. A shuttle will take you to the terminal. All transactions occur at the new facility. The new facility has the capacity to accommodate up to ten rental car agencies. The address of the Car Rental Facility is: 7432 New Ridge Rd.
