At the Port Macquarie Racecourse

Last Year in October the Hastings brought together services from around the region to provide those experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness with access to a range of services all in the one location. Over 300 people came last year. They were able to access medical

services such as mental health services, Job networks, food & beverages. TAFE provided hair cuts, manicures and massages. Births, Deaths and Marriages provided birth certificates. There were “give a ways” such as toiletry packs, heaps of clothing, blankets and shoes. This was a day of connection and when surveyed on the day people’s number one choice of what they liked best about the day was “connecting with people”.

This year the Hastings Community Services and the Hastings community are working together to host another day for those in the Hastings community who are struggling. This is an

opportunity for people in difficulty to access services that are often out of reach or not known to them.

To provide this special day we need help! It is a whole community effort and we need help with donations of toiletries, food, clothing and books for children and adults, and blankets/sleeping bags.

Thank you for being a part of this generous and caring community. Looking forward to a great Connect Day for 2013.
